On Tuesday, celebrated actor Abe Vigoda died at the age of 94. Vigoda was best known as the sunken-eyed Sal Tessio in The Godfather, as well as Detective Phil Fish on the sitcom Barney Miller. But Conan O'Brien remembers him best as the guy who was always game for a last-minute cameo appearance on his show. He aired a reel of some of their best sketches together in moving tribute during Tuesday night's taping.

"Abe was a huge part of our show in New York. I couldn't believe how many times Abe would come on the show and do hilarious things for us," O'Brien said. "We used to call him up, and sometimes we'd have the idea like three hours beforehand. It'd be the silliest thing [and] Abe would always come right over [and] do it. Such a lovely guy."
