In April, Chase dropped the music video for his song, "America's Sweetheart," which featured Charli as his love interest. During a Q&A on Instagram about the video, one fan asked Chase if he and Charli got emotional at any point during filming. "Oh my god yes," Chase responded, in a photo shared by Just Jared Jr. "The slow dance scene made everybody on set cry including the both of us. It was just so special and with the intensity of the song playing it was moving honestly."

Charli also opened up about filming the video, sharing an Instagram post about her experience."This video shows a side of me i never truly get to showcase out of fear but chase gave me a place to feel comfortable enough to share the improv i did on set!" she wrote alongside some BTS photos. "I felt so comfortable and supported throughout the entire day from everyone!! i am beyond thankful for being able to be in this video and getting to be a part of this piece of art with the person i can lean on for everything."

Despite this, Charli and Chase told TMZ the two are "just friends."

August 20, 2020

Chase and Charli joined forces to film a TikTok video, their first one together in quite some time. The pair danced to "It Won't Stop" by Sevyn Streeter featuring Chris Brown and they seemed to really be enjoying themselves.

Just when it seemed like Chase and Charli were maybe on the path to rekindling their romance, things took a turn for the worse. In a night of drama that included pretty much the entire TikTok community, Charli called out Chase for allegedly cheating on her. In response, Chase accused many other TikTok stars of cheating on their significant others. Things got heated, but since then, both Chase and Charli have apologized for their respective responses and they confirmed that they talked privately and are on good terms.

Once again, Charli and Chase are causing more speculation that they may be back together. The pair spent some time together at the new Hype House where they recorded two TikToks together.

It's unclear if they're just friends or something more, but either way, they seem to have Thomas Petrou's approval.

About a month following their split, fans are already speculating that Charli and Chase are back together. The rumors started earlier this month when Chase posted a sweet message for Charli's birthday.

"Happy birthday Char have a hell of a day you deserve the world," he wrote on Twitter, including a white heart in the tweet. Charli also used the same white heart to thank her (maybe) ex.

Fans started freaking out because apparently a white heart means "pure love" and Chase is known for only ever using the black and purple heart emojis. So, people think it's significant that he decided to mix it up and include the white one when referring to Charli.

And then there are the matching bracelets that they both showed off in various TikToks. Those are apparently "love bracelets" that people in long distance relationships wear to stay in touch.

Finally, there was Charli's TikTok from early May, where she danced to the classic song "My Boyfriend's Back," an interesting choice if you ask me.

April 13, 2020

Charli and Chase announced on Instagram that they have officially broken up.

"It hurts me to say this, but we've decided that this is what's best for both of us. We are still close friends and I would not change that for anything!" Charli wrote in an Instagram story. "I'm sorry I waited so long to tell you all. I wanted to take the time to process it for myself. Breakups are tough for anyone, so I'd really rather not talk about it anymore."

Chase's post was very similar to Charli's. "Charli is such an amazing person and I am so beyond grateful and blessed to have spent the time I spent with her," he wrote. "We will always be friends and she will always hold a special place in my hear for the rest of my life. We are sorry it's taken so long to come forward, but this was something we wanted to process privately first."

Just as it seemed like things were finally going well for Charli and Lil Huddy, everything got really complicated. Members of another TikTok group, the Sway House, are claiming that Lil Huddy cheated on Charli.

Sway House member, Josh Richard is saying that his girlfriend, fellow TikToker Nessa Barret, has been receiving explicit DMs and pictures from Lil Huddy. In response, Josh and his friend Bryce Hall made a diss track about Lil Huddy called, "Still Softish" where they call Lil Huddy out for talking to other girls despite being with Charli.

Lil Huddy seems mostly unbothered by the whole thing, simply tweeting that he predicted a diss track was going to be made about him this year. Charli, meanwhile, hasn't said anything about the song and it's unclear how this will affect Lil Huddy and Charli's relationship.
