The Mandalorian is continuing its intergalactic bounty hunter tale with a Season 2 that kicks off on October 30.
With the launch of Disney+ and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, the first season of the show had a bit of a confusing timeline for releasing episodes.
Season 2 will follow a far more linear release schedule than that of Season 1.
The wait for Star Wars fans to get another glimpse at Baby Yoda (OK, "The Child," but we're going to keep calling him Baby Yoda) is rapidly dwindling, as Season 2 of The Mandalorian is just on the horizon. While 2020 has been, let's just say, a rough year, there's this shining light: eight more episodes of Din Djarin, Baby Yoda, Moff Gideon, and all that good stuff are almost here.
But fans thinking back to Season 1 may also recall that the days the episodes came out were a little inconsistent; one week it was a Tuesday, another a Wednesday, and a whole bunch of Fridays other than that. The good news for Season 2 is that we won't have to deal with any of that this time around.
Perhaps the main reasoning for that is that there's no The Rise of Skywalker this year(or any Star Wars feature release, for that matter), so much of last year's late-season shuffling around is avoided. Remember, the show initially came out on Tuesday, November 12, of 2019, and the second episode came out only a few days later that Friday; the show was always planning for a Friday release schedule, but had to drop that first episode on the Tuesday as a special event to launch Disney+.
Without a streaming platform to launch or a major cinematic event to plan around, Season 2 will be much easier—just eight consecutive Fridays. And things are already looking a bit different among those 8 new episodes; according to some digging on Reddit, the new season's premiere will clock in at 52 minutes—the longest in show history.
