PETE THAMEL: Last week during the conference tournaments, Georgetown loomed over college basketball once again. fourth-year coach Patrick Ewing had his seminal moment as the Hoyas sideline leader. Georgetown won four games in four nights, casting aside a mediocre season to bring home the conference championship and Georgetown's first NCAA appearance since 2015.

Well, Georgetown's shining moment in the NCAA tournament went away quickly on Saturday afternoon. The Hoyas were overwhelmed and run off the court by Colorado, which blew them out 96-73 in a 5-12 game. Colorado was led by the son of another NBA star. Samaki Walker's son Jabari Walker scored 24 points on just 10 shots. He was 9 of 10, from the field 5 of 5 from 3-point range, and had a breakout day where even he was shaking his head in disbelief at his accuracy.

5th seed Colorado will advance to play number 4 seed Florida State in the second round. Florida State gutted their way past plucky 13-seed Greensboro to advance to the second round.
