Leandra Medine started her blog Man Repeller in 2010 as a catalog of her style obsessions and a diary of her own outfits, featuring such beloved-by-women, loathed-by-men trends as dresses over pants and socks with heels. Six years and 1.4 million Instagram followers later, Man Repeller now employs a team of writers dispensing off-kilter fashion advice, while Medine herself is one of the most photographed style icons in the world. So much for repelling.
Now, Medine’s legions of fans can go beyond imitation and buy pieces actually designed by her, in collaboration with contemporary women’s brand Atea Oceanie. The newly launched Atea Oceanie x Man Repeller collection consists of seven pieces that capture Medine’s style, from a perfectly slouchy trouser to a cool striped slip dress.
Medine has been a fan of Atea Oceanie since the brand launched: “[They] capture the essence of what makes a woman feel cool with clothes that seem so simple but are actually so complex to execute well,” Medine told Yahoo Style. “You feel really elegant and well-spoken in these clothes, so I feel honored to be associated with them.”
Atea designer Laura Myers, for her part, welcomed the opportunity to design a collection “a bit more daring” than usual.
“I have always been a fan of Leandra’s style and her unique approach to fashion,” Myers told Yahoo Style. “She encapsulates the quintessential Atea woman — confident and irreverent. It felt like a natural progression to collaborate with her on this capsule collection.”
Prices range from $270 for the Mandarin Collar Boyfriend Shirt to $650 for the oversized Hepburn Blazer. The collection is available to shop now at ateaoceanie.com. Click ahead to see the lookbook in full, and start planning your elaborately layered fall look now.
