Cole Custer and Tyler Reddick get in heated confrontation at Kansas
Cole Custer and Tyler Reddick had a little scrap on pit road after Saturday’s Xfinity Series race at Kansas.
Custer was unhappy with Reddick after late-race contact between the two ended up with Custer brushing the wall. Custer walked down pit road and grabbed Reddick’s firesuit. Reddick went for the grab as well and things needlessly escalated when crew members got involved.

It’s human nature for crew members to defend their drivers in these instances, but it sure looked like the swarm of other people to this skirmish made things a lot worse than they would have been. Custer and Reddick would have likely settled their differences with a little wrestling and nothing more.
Custer and Reddick will likely be two of the four drivers racing for the Xfinity Series title at Homestead in a month. We’ll see if their differences are resolved by then.
Brandon Jones won Saturday’s eventful race after the lapped car of Garrett Smithley became a roadblock for Chase Briscoe and Christopher Bell as they were racing for the lead with fewer than 20 laps to go.
Smithley, somewhat inexplicably, said after the race that he had no idea that the leaders were approaching so quickly.
