Coco Austin on Why She Doesn’t Want Her Daughter Chanel to Be a Model: ‘I Don’t Want Her to Be Who Mom Is’

Coco Austin‘s daughter Chanel Nicole may already have an affinity for high heels, but if her mom has anything to say about it, don’t expect to see her walking down the runway one day.

In Monday’s post-pregnancy blog for E! News, the reality star opened up about why she doesn’t necessarily want her baby girl, almost 4 months, making a career out of modeling when she grows up.

“I hope Chanel grows up to be an amazing person,” Austin, 37, wrote of her daughter with husband Ice-T, 58. “I want her to be spiritual and lovable and a really good person. I want her to become like a doctor or scientist. I don’t want her to be who mom is.”

Austin, who is a model herself, says she “going to push” Chanel: “She’s going to be my little experiment or project. I can see that now and I’m going to have 100 percent hands on this little girl.”

“I’m going to try and push her away from the modeling. It’s going to be hard because I’m probably going to have a camera in her face and she’s going to learn how to model but at the same I don’t want her to focus on that as a career,” said Austin, who hosts a talk show with her rapper husband, Ice & Coco. “I want her to do something that I couldn’t do.”

Austin said it would be “fine” if Chanel wanted to do modeling on the side, but that she wants “to see her go in a different direction.”

The new mom also opened up about the fact that she has been “fully hands on” and spending all of her time with her daughter, and it’s “not because people are telling me I should, but it’s because I really want to.”

“I have been by Chanel’s side 24/7. No nannies, no baby sitters, no nothing,” she said. “I don’t want anybody else handling my baby.”

As for the heat she gets from “ dressing sexy,” the fitness enthusiast brushed it all off.

“First of all, everybody should know who Coco is by now,” she wrote. “I’m never going to pop up with a sweatsuit. It’s just not going to happen. I don’t know why it amazes people. I think I’ve toned down throughout the years. I’ve settled down in so many ways.”

“I think they are still mentioning that I wear tight clothes. How would that change after a baby? I don’t understand that,” she continued. “I’ve calmed down with my outfits but I can’t look good anymore? I just want to look put together. Even though I have a baby, I can still put on makeup, do my hair and get my nails and be put together by my outfit. I’m not overdoing it. It’s the way my personality is. It’s not like I’m going to be in a moo-moo tomorrow. People need to get over that.”
