There is no world in which we could imagine a life without Cobra Kai. Though, such a world will soon become a reality after season 6 premieres, no matter how hard that is for us to admit!

The Netflix show isn't just a favorite of ours—Ree Drummond herself can't help but indulge in the The Karate Kid spinoff series. If you've been watching the past five seasons of Cobra Kai, then you know that life at the riveting dojo is inescapable (for us viewers, that is).

There's a lot to expect from season 6, but the real question is: when can we expect it? Season 6 was officially confirmed in January 2023, which at this point was 13 months ago. Thankfully, things seem to be moving along in the new year. So, keep reading to find out what you need to know about Cobra Kai season 6, including its release date, cast, plot, and other spoilers.

Will there be a season 6 of Cobra Kai?

You bet! We know that Cobra Kai will indeed come out with season 6, just as we know it will be its last.

And to assure us some more, Cobra Kai and Netflix confirmed the final season with an Instagram post last year. The post was as teaser of the upcoming season, accompanied by a short message. "Let me ask you: Do you have one more fight left in you?," the caption read. "The sixth and final season of COBRA KAI is coming soon to Netflix."

When will season 6 of Cobra Kai come out?

Nothing is yet confirmed. However, showrunner Hayden Schlossberg took to social media to answer a few fan questions, including if we can "expect a 2024 release."

Schlossberg replied: "That is the goal and yes."

In regards to a question about the filming schedule, the cast appears to be on set! There's no trailer yet, but Netflix recently posted a brief video to their socials, and it consists of different clips of cast members letting us know what to expect come season 6.

Tanner Buchanan (who plays Robby Keene) can be heard saying that the cast has been "super hard at work" as they prepare to give us season 6. Things are moving along, people!

All other cast members had some enticing things to say, but Mary Mouser (who plays Samantha LaRusso) really drew us in. "If you think you've seen big, just think bigger," she said, having us immediately raise our eyebrows.

Well, we're so ready for whatever that means!

What will Cobra Kai season 6 be about?

Season 5 saw frenemies Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Macchio) working side by side in an effort to defeat Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) once and for all. (Thankfully, they succeeded!) With the two men getting along better than ever, there's plenty of room for a new villain. And Hayden Schlossberg has hinted that John Kreese (Martin Kove), another notorious villain in the Cobra Kai universe, could be making a return following his escape from prison.

Also, both Netflix and the show's creators have been very active on social media lately, giving us fans the content we need. For one, showrunner Jon Hurwitz posted some exciting information on "X" (formerly Twitter) in early February.

"Cuts for the first couple eps of Season 6 have been rolling in," Hurwitz wrote. "I’ve missed this. Just watched one of the most crowd pleasing fights of the series. A fresh new team up. You’re all gonna go nuts. I can’t stop smiling. #CobraKai #Netflix"

Hurwitz also shared a behind-the-scenes photo of the cast on set, and oh, is it something. It shows both Danny LaRusso’s and Johnny Lawrence’s team of students standing in unison. It seems like they really are combing forces for the sake of the greater good!

Who will be in the Cobra Kai season 6 cast?

Based on the recent teaser we included above, we think and hope that our favorites from the recent seasons will return! That includes the adults (Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Courtney Henggeler, Vanessa Rubio, and Martin Kove) and the kids (Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Peyton List, and Jacob Bertrand). It doesn't seem like the show is done with Kenny's story, which means that we hope Dallas Dupree Young comes back, too.

Also, Sean Kanan, who plays Mike Barnes, and has made a few cameo appearances in Season 5, took to Twitter to share his interest in Season 6.

That's all for now. Stay tuned for more on the future of Cobra Kai!

Is Cobra Kai ending?

Unfortunately, this is true. Soon after confirming there will be a season 6, Cobra Kai released an official statement declaring it to be the final season.

"Our day one goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the valley in the time and place we've always imagined," the statement writes. "So it is with immense pride and thankfulness that we are able to announce that achievement. The upcoming Season Six will mark the conclusion of Cobra Kai."

But, that doesn't necessarily mean this is the end of the story!

Showrunners Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg—the writers of this statement—alluded to what could potentially mean future movies and/or spinoffs for Cobra Kai and the Karate Kid franchise.

"While this may be a bittersweet day for the fandom, the Miyagiverse has never been stronger. This fandom is the BEST on the planet and we hope to be telling more Karate Kid stories with you down the line. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies."
