"I find a corner, and I start drawing." In divine understatement, Argentinian illustrator Maia Bunge reveals the origins of the Empire-style salon captured in pen and ink ( a commission by its owners, the Duquesne Watelet de la Vinelle family). A Parisian transplant, Bunge spent a week in Belgium, drawing among the rich furnishings of the 1702 townhouse. With added photography and historic research, her vision emerges as both documentary and idiosyncratic. It's a delightful invitation to linger.
