Clint Eastwood keeps the real heroes in the spotlight with the premiere of '15:17 to Paris'

If there’s anyone who can break down an entire crowd of movie-goers into a puddle of tears, it’s Clint Eastwood. The Oscar winning actor and director’s new movie, 15:17 to Paris hits theaters today and while fans are hustling to their IMDB app to look up the unfamiliar handsome and hunky stars of the film, they’ll be surprised to discover that Spencer Stone, Anthony Sadler and Alek Skarlatos are portraying themselves.

That’s right, the three American heroes who saved the lives of train passengers on a route from Amsterdam to Paris in 2015 have returned to their rightful spotlight as actors. The rare casting decision has been applauded by many as Eastwood has long established himself as the storyteller for American heroes through films like Letters from Iwo Jima, American Sniper and Sully.

Two people who will be cheering on their country’s finest this weekend are the hosts of The Morning Breath, Jackie and Claudia Oshry.

“They deserve the world, those guys. I want to give them money,” says Claudia of the three childhood friends who courageously — and without hesitation — took down an armed terrorist while sightseeing in Europe two and a half years ago.

“I hope they’re good actors and they get more roles,” enthuses Jackie, who also suggests that Chelsey Sullenburger would’ve been the optimal choice to re-enact his own heroic plane landing in the Hudson River rather than Tom Hanks.

Here’s to hoping that America’s heroes continue to bask in their deserved and rightful spotlight. It doesn’t hurt that Stone, Sadler and Skarlatos carry the same refined demeanor as Hollywood’s most decorated talent.
