Claudia Schiffer was one of the busiest models of the 90’s. The blonde, German-born supermodel ran with fellow icons Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Cindy Crawford. Together, they were some of the most recognizable faces on the planet. Schiffer was the first model to land the cover of Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone, and it was her image in Guess ads during the late 80’s and early 90’s that catapulted the brand to success. (One only need look at the Schiffer-lookalikes—Valeria Mazza, Anna Nicole Smith, Kate Upton—that have starred in their ad campaigns since to see her influence.)

The rest of the supermodels have had something of a resurgence lately. Campbell’s set to star on Empire, Christy Turlington re-landed her CK campaign, and Kate Moss is everywhere. But Schiffer’s maintained a relatively low profile. In fact, she hasn’t been on a red carpet in four years—until last night. She popped up at the London premiere of Kingsman: The Secret Service, on the arm of Jeremy Scott and costume designer Arianne Phillips.

Kingsman stars Colin Firth, and is directed by Schiffer’s husband Michael Vaughn. (It’s also the first movie to launch with a fashion collection.) The model looked as beautiful as ever, wearing a black and white mini-dress by Antonio Berardi over black opaque tights and patent leather kitten heels. The last time she walked a red carpet was during the Cannes Film Festival in 2011. So what has she been doing all this time?

Other than the occasional modeling job, like the 20th anniversary Guess ad campaign in 2012, and the cover of German Vogue’s April issue last year, Schiffer briefly ventured into fashion design with the launch of an eponymous cashmere collection in 2011. Most recently, she launched a hair care line at Walmart in collaboration with Scwarzkopf. But it seems like these days, Schiffer’s happy to lead a quiet life at her home in England, raising her three kids, instead of posing in the latest Versace campaign.
