Would Claire have let Leo on the door?
bigO: 1) We should always have a lifeline / helping hand for those who need it. 2) The above being said, it should never be a point of pride the number of people we have receiving assistance has increased. My niece was on various forms of assistance for years, now she is down to just SNAP as her situation has improved. She is hoping to be off of SNAP before the end of the year. 3) Rep Ocasio-Cortez said, “Seven million people have not been lifted off food stamps in this country. They were kicked off food stamps in this country.” Again, this should only be for those who need it, not for those who can do for themselves. Some of the rule changes require people of working age - without a disability or dependents - to actively look for work or go to school. If they do not do those things, why should we help support their lifestyle of not trying to better themselves. The simple fact is our tax dollars (income) goes to programs such as this. I am willing to assist those who need help, but I am against providing that assistance to those who refuse to help themselves first.
