What city loves Chick-fil-A peach shakes the most? Lafayette! We do!

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Move over, Georgia. You may be the Peach State and the birthplace of Chick-fil-A.

When it comes to peach milkshakes from the popular chicken franchise, however, Lafayette tops the list of the city with the most sold.

Introduced to the Chick-fil-A menu in 2009, the peach milkshake has become a popular summer addition.

Based on restaurant orders made in 2021, Lafayette topped the Top 10 list of cities. Only one Georgia city – Macon, the hometown of this journalist – made the list, sitting at No 6.

“I think we’re really proud that this great flavor has taken its own kind of name and that everyone really loves it," said Rachel DeYoung, restaurant operator at Lafayette's N. Creasy Lane location. "We feel really quite proud and excited to be named No. 1 in the nation for Chick-Fil-A peach milkshake sales.”

"Nicknamed the 'Star City,' residents in Lafayette hail the peachy goodness as the star of the show in their city," Chick-fil-A said in the announcement released earlier this month.

The cities ordering the most peach shakes include:

  1. Lafayette, Ind.

  2. Idaho Falls, Idaho

  3. Spokane, Washington

  4. Meridian, Mississippi

  5. Lancaster, Pennsylvania

  6. Macon, Georgia

  7. Scottsbluff, Nebraska

  8. Boise, Idaho

  9. Klamath Falls, Oregon

  10. Greenville, South Carolina

The milkshake is made with Chick-fil-A's vanilla Icedream dessert and peaches. Flavors available the rest of the year include vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and Cookies & Cream.

The Georgia-based franchise began 1967, when restauranteur Truett Cathy opened the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Atlanta's Greenbriar Shopping Center. Cathy and his brother Ben had already opened The Dwarf Grill, now known as The Dwarf House, in 1946, according to the company.

Legend has it, the chicken fillet sandwich was so popular on The Dwarf House menu, Cathy decided to create the spin off restaurant focusing on that item.
