Ciara has big plans to "Level Up" her health and wellness in 2021, but that isn't stopping her from embracing her body each step of the way.

The singer, 35, who welcomed her third child in July, during the coronavirus pandemic, told USA TODAY that she's been feeling confident and celebrating her progress while still on her way to meeting her fitness goals.

"I can say I am the most confident I've ever been in my life as a woman, as a mom... I really do believe that's an energy, like I believe that's a mental thing,” she says. "I'm loving my curves. I've done like several really cool cover shoots in this season of like coming back down and not being all the way back to my pre-baby weight, and I'm not even like trippin'! I'm not even stressing about anything... I'm embracing every step of the journey and that feels good."

In addition to wanting to stay fit for her family, she also says it's been empowering to prioritize herself and her health.

“I really love the feeling of being able to have my little beautiful babies run around and they're so sweet, but I do love taking care of myself in the process. And also not only for my babies but for my husband too – like, I love keeping my sexy up!” she says. “I think that your sexy is defined by how you want to define it, and a part of that for me and what's been self-empowering is really taking care of myself. Like making sure that I am still putting me first in the midst of it all.”

She hasn't let the challenges of 2020 and the first weeks of the new year stop her from staying motivated.

“I think it's important that when the world is changing that you don't let it change you," she says. "You can change the things that you're doing within all that's happening, you know, to stay on pace and to keep your energy up."

Ciara's post-baby fitness journey has certainly been in full swing – and as the latest WW (formerly Weight Watchers) ambassador, on full display – for her 27 million Instagram followers, where she's been sharing her weight loss goals, progress and workouts.

Due to COVID-19, most of her strategies to stay active are indoors, including Peloton classes with her favorite instructor Ally Love and workouts with her trainer Decker Davis.

She says working out, at times, has become a family affair during the pandemic, with husband and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, her kids and even the family pets.

"Sometimes Russ and I get to work out together in the midst of his crazy football schedule, which has been awesome," she says. "My kids keep me active running after them is definitely a lot of work. And then also taking out our three Great Danes for runs... It's really sweet, I didn't get to really do that as much, you know, pre-quarantine and so it's just simple things that have brought me so much joy and have allowed me to stay on track for my fitness goals."

Her advice to other moms trying to kick-start on their own health and wellness goals? “Envision where you want to get to,” she says.

“I think it starts with you first, not anyone else’s opinions of you," she adds. "I just want to encourage all my moms out there, all the women out there to embrace every step of your process on the way to achieving your goals."

She adds, "Don't be too hard on yourself in the process. But again, visualize your goals, write out your plan to achieving them and go after it."
