Ahh, after Christmas sales. Is there anything more trivial than a massively marketed sale to commemorate the end of a season of massively marketed sales? Doubt it! It would be so nice to be able to just ignore the blitz, cozy up by the fire, and zone out in the blue hues of your brand new TV.
Unfortunately, some of these sales are actually quite good, offering big discounts on things you'd actually want, but didn't quite sell as well as expected. But before you take that as a rallying cry and brave the carnage at your local mall, take out your computer. Most of the best sales you might find in stores are available online. In fact, a bunch of direct-to-consumer retailers without brick and mortar locations have joined in the "fun" and are selling their wares at decent discounts. Here are all the after Christmas sales that we've found on mattresses, home goods, and tech that you'll actually want to buy.
Looking for after Christmas sales on menswear and sneakers? No surprise, we've got you covered.
Mattresses and Bedding
Brooklyn Bedding: Each of the company's six mattresses are 20% off until January 7th. When we tested mattresses earlier this year, we decided to recommend the company's Plank mattress. It was a favorite among the people on staff who wanted the firmest bed possible, short of laying on concrete.
Target: The Target sale includes a lot more than tech. But its best deals are on Bluetooth speakers, like the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom, and the Apple Watch. We reviewed that speaker favorably when it was new, back in 2017. It still stacks up well against new portable Bluetooth speakers we tested.
Furniture and Home
Burrow: With the code NYE, you can get 10% off purchases up to $1,499, $200 off purchase of $1,500 or more, $250 off purchases of $1,800 and up, $300 off purchases of $2,200 and up, $400 off $2,600 or more, and $500 off purchases of $3,000 and up. The sale lasts until January 5th.
Best Made: The company's annual Boxing Day sale mostly includes its apparel, but it also includes bags and an amazing blanket.
Home Depot: The company's Refresh and Renew sale includes discounts on furniture, tableware, housewares, textiles, and small electronics. It runs until January 26th.
Huckberry: Huckberry is offering up to 55% off its clearance section. There are deals available on apparel, bedding, glassware, and bags.
IKEA: If you're an IKEA Family member (you can join for free), you can access a lot of sales between December 26 and January 2nd on a ton of IKEA's homewares. Shelving units, bedroom storage, TV storage, food storage, and select sofas are all on sale. Take after poet Hanif Abduraqib and try to figure out how to use your new storage solution in a perfectly unpredictable way.
Nordstrom: Nordstrom's half-yearly sale will get you up to 50% off the company's kitchen and home gear. It runs until January 2nd.
Walmart: The big box retailer's end-of-year clearance sale has deals on basically everything, with a focus on Christmas decorations and toys.
Wayfair: The company's end of year clearance sale has already begun. It ends January 5th.
