Christie Brinkley Looks So Toned in Cheeky Swimsuit Pic From Her 20s: ‘Have a Roaring Good Time’
  • Christie Brinkley, 68, shared a beautiful throwback photo to Instagram on Friday.

  • In the photo, the model and actress stunned in an animal print one-piece when she was just 27 years old.

  • “Time flies, so get out there and have a roaring good time!” she wrote in the caption.

We can always count on Christie Brinkley to bring the Friday fitness inspiration. Whether sharing her love of the Total Gym or posting a bikini selfie, the 68-year-old is all about health and wellness. And today’s post throws it back around 40 years, sharing a pic of her in a swimsuit featuring a roaring cat graphic, from when she was just 27 years old. The former supermodel looks incredibly toned while she strikes a pose and tousles her long blonde hair.

She captioned the post in classic Brinkley fashion—full of jokes and wisdom.

“My Roaring 20’s ..27 to be precise. The year was 1981 and this still shot [was] taken by @mikereinhardtphoto as we were being filmed for the ‘The HBO modeling special Beautiful Baby, Beautiful, starring Christie Brinkley, Janice Dickinson, Rene Russo, Jerry Hall, and Iman,’” she wrote. “Time flies, so get out there and have a roaring good time!”

This isn’t the first time Brinkley has offered up life advice in the caption of a swimsuit pic. Just a few months ago she posted a picture to Instagram saying she was “one with the earth” in a beachy pic. And just last week she struck a pose beachside with coral in each hand while wearing a bright pink crop top and touting a body-positive message.

Though the photo was taken more than 40 years ago, the model maintains a health-first mentality today. And if you’re wondering how the model looks so sculpted at 68, she takes great care of her health with a clean diet and active lifestyle.

She has been a vegetarian since she was 13 years old and follows a “rainbow diet,” which involves eating as many colors of the rainbow on her plate. “That’s my main concept for making sure my kids get all the nutrients—making sure they get the deep greens, yellows and reds and purples, all of that,” she told The Cut.

She loves to stay active with the Total Gym, spin classes, and strength training. “I would say running is my favorite way to sweat, but I’m not really supposed to do that anymore because of injuries,” she said. She also finds small ways to get movement in throughout her day. “Some days the only thing I can get in is a seven-minute run on the Total Gym. Then while I’m brushing my teeth, I’m doing leg lifts,” she said. “When I’m drying my hair, I do all kinds of squats.”

“Once you’re over 50, don’t stop moving because you’ll rust,” she added. “You have to grease the joints and keep moving. As long as I do that I feel great.”
