Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic registered two goals during a win over Liverpool on his own soil in the International Champions Cup, but his point-scoring didn’t end when the match was over.

While Pulisic took part in a post-match interview, a young fan ran onto the pitch and approached the 19-year-old American. Security on the scene didn’t take a keen eye to such an act and started to haul the child away by force. Then Pulisic intervened.

Pulisic had security let go of the boy, then signed an autograph and took a selfie with him. All in all, a very heartwarming move.

Pulisic might have the world on his shoulders as the great hope of the United States men’s soccer team, but moments like Sunday show it’s not all about what happens on the field.
