Christian Pulisic accidentally scored a golazo (Video)

Christian Pulisic scored the first of three goals in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-0 win over Stuttgart on Sunday, and … well … he probably didn’t mean to do what he did:

His intent wasn’t 100 percent clear. But it sure looked like Pulisic meant to dig out a cross into the box. Instead, he mishit the cross to perfection. It flew into the top corner, over the goalkeeper’s head, in off the far post.

And sure enough, Pulisic confirmed after the match that there was a bit of luck behind the wondergoal:

“I was looking for the back post, just for a cross,” Pulisic said with a smile. “It came off my foot a little wrong. But it wasn’t so wrong in the end. It was a bit lucky but I’m happy it went in.”

Even Borussia Dortmund’s official Twitter recognized the good fortune immediately:

Whether it was a shot or a “shoss” or a Sonntagsschuss, though, it was Pulisic’s fourth goal of the Bundesliga season. It had Dortmund up 1-0 at halftime, and was eventually the catalyst for a victory that took BVB six points clear of fifth place.
