Chrissy Teigen just shared some ~very~ big news on Instagram: She’s expecting another baby with her husband, singer John Legend. The model, 36, revealed the news alongside a few shots of her already-quite-apparent baby bump. And she looked so darn happy.

It's been a long road to this pregnancy for Chrissy and John, and it certainly hasn't been easy. After a tragic pregnancy loss back in 2020, Chrissy has been open about her journey to continue building their brood.

“The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again,” she wrote in her IG caption. “One billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way.”

But when is Chrissy due with her rainbow baby? Here’s what you need to know.

When did Chrissy announce the news?

Chrissy announced the news of her pregnancy on Wednesday, August 3, on Instagram with a sweet and candid post about the fact she was finally expecting again.

The comments on her post were flooded with well wishes from famous friends and strangers. “What welcome, happy news! ♥️♥️♥️,” said Jennifer Garner. “Congratulations, Chrissy! So happy for you and John! 😘❤️,” wrote Katie Couric.

Everyone is cheering you on, Chrissy!

What has Chrissy said about the pregnancy?

Chrissy made it clear on Instagram that she’s been nervous about this pregnancy—which is understandable after she experienced a terrible pregnancy loss back in 2020.

“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘Ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce,’” she wrote in her Instagram post.

“But then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still.” She continued, “I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”

She lost her baby Jack at 20 weeks in 2020.

Two years ago, Chrissy and John lost a baby they had named Jack when she was already 20 weeks into her pregnancy. Chrissy was candid about the experience in an emotional Instagram post and Medium story afterwards.

“On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it,” she wrote at the time.

In her Medium story, Chrissy shared that she had been diagnosed with a placental abruption, which is what happens when the placenta separates from the inner wall of the uterus before birth, causing the baby to be deprived of oxygen and nutrients, per the March of Dimes.

“After a couple nights at the hospital, my doctor told me exactly what I knew was coming—it was time to say goodbye,” Chrissy wrote. “He just wouldn’t survive this, and if it went on any longer, I might not either.”

She’s been doing IVF.

Chrissy shared in a February Instagram post that she was doing another cycle of IVF, or in-vitro fertilization.

“I honestly don’t mind the shots…they make me feel like a doctor/chemist…but the bloating is a bitch, so I humbly beg you to stop asking if I’m pregnant because while I know it’s said with excited, good intentions, it just kind of sucks to hear because I am the opposite of pregnant!” she wrote at the time.

“But also like please stop asking people, anyone, if they’re pregnant. I said this in the comments and got yelled at because the internet is wild but I’d rather be the one to tell you and not some poor woman who will look you in the eyes through tears and that’s how you finally learn. Anyhow, Iove youuuuu??”

How many kids do they already have?

What is her likely due date?

Chrissy hasn't shared her exact due date, but she is already showing. That tends to happen a little sooner when you’ve already been pregnant before, but given her reluctance to share the news and her mention of several doctor’s appointments, she’s probably in the 16- to 20-week range of her pregnancy.

That would make her due date sometime in the January to February 2023 range.

Everyone is thrilled for you, Chrissy and John!
