Chrissy Teigen, along with her husband, John Legend, sat down for their first joint televised interview since losing their third baby, Jack, due to pregnancy complications.

Teigen has been incredibly open with her grieving process. She posted photos of the family's goodbye to their son and wrote a powerful essay about her experience. Her transparency has resonated with many people who have gone through similar losses.

“I have thousands of letters written to me and, obviously, it's something so painful to go through as a woman, something that was inside your body that you were nurturing and taking care of,” she told Good Morning America's Michael Strahan. “But, obviously, there's a father involved, and the support for the both of us has just been so beautiful, so incredible.”

She also spoke about the decision to post photos of her experience on social media. “I don't care if you were offended or disgusted,” Teigen said. “I understand it can be that way for people. It was designed for the people that were hurting. And John was very uncomfortable taking them.”

Legend added, “She felt like, really, one of the ways we would carry on Jack's memory was to take pictures of that moment. I was, like, worried because I don't want to commemorate this pain. But the crazy thing about having a miscarriage is you don't walk away with anything. You have this emptiness, and we wanted to take the photos so we had something to remember it by.”

While it's been a difficult time, the couple say they were bolstered by all the love and support around them. Their children, Luna and Miles, have helped tremendously too. “You don't want to be stuck in bed when you hear the laughter downstairs,” Teigen said

The couple also announced a new partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities during their interview. The organization helps families with sick or injured children who are in the hospital. Teigen joked that she's been supporting McDonald's for 34 years but then sincerely added that the group is nonpartisan and that you need to “care for children” to support it.

Families can stay at Ronald McDonald House locations while their children are receiving treatment, often in hospitals far from home. Teigen says it's one of the things she's most “proud” to support.

You can get involved too, if you'd like. Starting on Tuesday and through December 31, when you post the Ronald McDonald House Charities heart on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, or Facebook and use the hashtag, #HereForRMHC, McDonald’s will give $100 in your name to the charity as part of its $100 million (!!!) commitment over the next five years.

It's wonderful to see Chrissy Teigen and John Legend doing well and being able to turn their pain into something positive for other families around the country.
