'Selling Sunset’s' Chrishell And Christine Appear To Be Feuding Ahead Of Season Three

After two seasons filled with multi-million-dollar homes, sky-high stilettos, and enough tears to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool, Netflix's Selling Sunset is baaaack for season three. That's right, the hit reality TV show—from the masterminds behind The Hills and Laguna Beach, FYI—premieres on the streaming service this week(!!!) on Friday, August 7.

Just in case you forgot, the series stars luxury real estate agents Chrishell Stause, Christine Quinn, Amanza Smith, Maya Vander, Mary Fitzgerald, Heather Rae Young, Davina Potratz, and their bosses, Jason and Brett Oppenheim, who run The Oppenheim Group.

The series, once a hidden gem in an expanding collection of Netflix reality shows, dropped its second season mid-quarantine, which earned the show a whole new crowd of fans vicariously house-hunting in Los Angeles along with the leading ladies' billionaire and celeb clients. Beyond jaw-dropping homes (and price tags), viewers got to watch the women fall in and out of love, test each other’s friendships, and generally stir up drama in public places.

The first two seasons saw no shortage of name-calling, bandage dresses, and digs aimed at the Valley (and anyone who lives there). Now, season three’s storyline is promising much of the same, plus so much more that you—and even some cast members—never saw coming.

Selling Sunset season 3 will premiere Friday, August 7th.

Yep, that’s right. Since the third season’s already been filmed—why wait? "We finished filming our show literally the day before the lockdown," Amanza Smith told Women's Health. "If we would have only had one day of filming left, we would have still had to wait this whole time and the show wouldn't have been able to have been edited and out. We got very lucky."

As a result, Selling Sunset stans got pretty lucky, too. Netflix tweeted that the third season would drop just over two months after the second. And so fans would have a little taste of what’s to come, the season two finale wrapped with a quick preview of season three.

And in July, the creators finally dropped not one, but TWO new season trailers:

You’re in for a gothic wedding, a surprise divorce, and there's even talk of ditching The Oppenheim Group and its "egotistic males." If seasons one and two are any indication, the third season of Selling Sunset will most likely be broken down into eight episodes, too. (Is that enough? Frankly, no!)

Someone FINALLY sold that $44 million dollar house.

You know the one. It's 20,000 square-feet, with a 15-car garage, four hot tubs, wrap-around infinity pool, rooftop deck, theater, wine cellar, spa, and a load of other things you never knew could fit inside a house. In the end, it went for $35.5 million in December 2019. The season three preview opens with the announcement (and Chrishell ringing that enormous bell she wanted in the office to announce sales), but doesn't offer up any other details.

Luckily, Amanza came through with all of tea.

"It was Jason. He sold it to a couple," she says, explaining that before the house went off the market, Jason also showed the house to a good-looking bachelor. "I was upset because we were kind of hoping that the really handsome single bachelor would buy it so we could go and hang out at the pool," she joked.

Christine’s wedding will be front and center.

Fans were introduced to Christine's then-fiancé, Christian Richard, a retired software engineer at the start of season two. She’d kept her relationship with the millionaire on the DL for a while—even Christine's BFF Mary had no idea Christian popped the question until way after it happened.

Fast forward to December 15, 2019, the couple tied the knot in a super-private, but lavish AF ceremony (because of course). If you thought their engagement party, inspired by the Britney Spears "Boys" music video—zebras and all—was elaborate, wait 'til you get a load of their "gothic winter wonderland" wedding next season complete with a black wedding gown, a Victorian carriage, and a cake "which appeared to bleed when cut into," per People.

Ahead of the premiere, Christine herself dished all the details of her self-described "over-the-top wedding" to Women's Health. And for viewers' sakes, she just hopes the cameras caught them all.

"I'm really spiritual and I think there's something so special about starting off the new year in the right way, so we decided to have a December wedding. And I thought: 'How great would it be to have a theme of snow and turn it into a beautiful winter wonderland?'"

Well, Christine's version of one. "Obviously, I have this Barbie/dominatrix/goddess kind of vibe to my outfits, so I always wanted to do a gothic wedding with a black dress," she said. "I thought how great to incorporate the two into a gothic winter wonderland, and it was absolutely spectacular."

In absolute Christine fashion (she says now-husband Christian had a hand in some of the planning, too), everything was meticulously planned. The same event planner who organized Christine and Christian's engagement party helped bring their vision to life with elements Christine says you'll want to make sure you catch:

• The room where the wedding takes place is completely white.

• It snows (indoors!) throughout the wedding.

• There are white swans next to the couple as they exchange vows.

• While everyone is outside for cocktail hour, the room is completely transformed for the reception.

• When guests return, the room is totally blacked out.

• There are thunder sound effects, graphics of lightning bolts being projected onto the walls, and fog at people's feet.

• The white swans are switched out for black ones.

"It's just little things like that," says Christine. "I really went out of my way to make [the wedding] really fantastic and detail-oriented, so I just hope the cameras captured all of it and people love it so that it inspires them to be different. That's what my whole message is about."

According to Amanza, all that attention to detail worked. "It was the most spectacular event I've ever attended or even seen on television," she recalls. "This was like if Kylie Jenner has a birthday party for her daughter, that was the equivalent of Christine's wedding. I was telling all our friends after that, 'You know what, if any of us get married again or get married in the future, just go to the courthouse because there's no way we can top Christine's wedding.' It was unbelievable."

Of course, this just wouldn't be a Selling Sunset wedding if it was drama-free. Like Mary Fitzgerald's nuptials to Romain Bonnet, which closed out season two, the season three preview shows Chrishell walking out of Christine's wedding saying, "I don’t want to be here right now. I don't want to do this anymore." Christine describes her wedding day as a "really emotional" one for Chrishell because of her recent breakup.

And yes, Chrishell Stause’s divorce from Justin Hartley gets tons of screen time, too.

After two years of marriage to Chrishell, This Is Us star Justin Hartley filed for divorce in November of 2019 citing "irreconcilable differences." And according to the season three sneak peek, Chrishell didn’t see the split coming. "I’m just kind of in shock with it all," she says in a voice over. The next scene shows her teary-eyed and telling Mary, "I love him so much, this was my best friend. Who do I talk to now?"

Apparently, things get even more raw from there. "Where the show picks up, that was my life and, unfortunately, you are going to follow the journey of that—the good and the bad," Chrishell told Entertainment Tonight. And though the former All My Children star did agree to have her life play out on camera, don't expect her to live tweet the experience or anything. "When it gets to the bad, I am going to go under a rock, and I am going to go off the grid," she said.

Ahead 0f season three, castmate Christine Quinn also revealed some of her thoughts about Chrishell and Justin's divorce with Page Six. "We all just thought maybe they were having communication problems for a while," she told the publication. "We heard that they were in therapy, so obviously there were some issues going on with them."

Chrishell soon refuted Christine's claims on Twitter. She wrote: "Let me be VERY clear. She [Christine] knows absolutely nothing about the situation and is obviously desperate to gain attention by doing so. Anything from her is either a complete lie or total conjecture on her part."

Christine replied to the tweet, writing, "I didn’t say anything bad at all."

Chrishell then responded on Instagram, according to Us Weekly. "I was never making a statement about whether we were or weren’t. Therapy is a healthy thing & not something to be ashamed of," she wrote on July 15, adding that Quinn was "purely guessing" about what was going on in her marriage. (The Instagram post appears to have since been deleted.)

IRL, things seem to be moving forward with the couple's divorce. Chrishell and Justin "participated in a Voluntary Settlement Conference" on July 13 "in an effort to resolve the issues in the [divorce] case fully and settle all of their claims, future and present." During that meeting, the exes agreed that Chrishell’s maiden "name shall immediately be restored," according to court documents signed by both parties and obtained by Us Weekly.

Things still seem icy between Christine and Chrishell. Earlier this week, Chrishell posted an Instagram with co-stars Mary and Heather hanging out to celebrate "2 birthdays and an engagement" (it was Mary and Chrishell's birthday, and Heather recently got engaged to Tarek El Moussa). Christine was noticeably absent from the shindig, as well as a few other Selling Sunset castmates.

Davina’s still looking for someone to buy that $80 million house.

Remember that enormous compound Jason told Davina not to take on because it would be too hard to sell? Well, she's still on the hunt for a buyer. In the preview, Jason basically tells her "I told you so," as they discuss next steps.

"I’m just telling you, we are never going to sell that listing, and we are walking away from that house," he says. Butttt Davina has a plan. She’s bringing Christine on to help her get it off the market and land that million-dollar commission.

And, according to Christine, someone recently put down an offer on the house. But until an offer is accepted, "[Davina] is still working on selling it, and she has other listings from that client," Christine said. "That girl's hustling, she's doing well. She's going to sell that house, it's just a matter of time."
