Chrishell Stause revealed earlier this year in the action-packed Season 3 of Selling Sunset that her ex Justin Hartley had broken the news that he filed for divorce in a text message. That heartbreak in November 2019 was followed by heartache in July 2020 when Stause's mother Ranae died of cancer.

Stause lost her mom to lung cancer, which was the same disease that she took her dad's life nearly one year earlier in April 2019. The realtor associate recently opened up about both losses in a new interview People magazine. Unlike losing her husband to divorce, losing her mom to cancer is one thing Stause may never get over.

“It’s almost an ungrievable loss,” Stause told People magazine in a recent interview. “The other loss, you can slowly recover and get over. This one just feels like I’m adapting, as opposed to getting over it.”

And it has been "painful" for Stause to see Hartley move on in the public eye. The This Is Us star is reportedly dating Sofia Pernas, who was his former co-star on The Young and the Restless.

“I feel like anybody would be heartbroken to see how quickly or easily you are replaced,” Stause told People. "Of course, that’s going to sting."

But the ever-optimistic Stause remains "excited to get back out there" into the dating world. In the meantime, she has "taken the steps" to freeze her eggs in an effort to remove any pressure from a potential future relationship.

"Hopefully, that will empower me going forward in the dating world, so there’s not so much pressure," Stause told People.

“I definitely had a different idea for where I would be at this age and stage in my life,″ she added. “There’s a family aspect that I’m missing that I hope is still a possibility for me."
