Is Chris Watts gay? The tragic case of the Shanann Watts murder — along with her two daughters and unborn son — by her own husband, Chris Watts, is a story that's weighed heavy on the hearts of many in recent weeks. The images of the seemingly happy family have been shattered by betrayal and murder.
To refresh, Shanann Watts was 15 weeks pregnant with unborn son, Nico, and together, the couple were parents to 4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste. The bodies of Shanann, Celeste, and Bella were found a few days after they were reported missing. The girls were found in an oil drum and Shanann was found in a shallow grave. All three were strangled; Chris admitted to murdering Shannan but then claims his wife killed the girls and he was acting in defense.
The story has taken some surprising turns and this newest bombshell may be the most surprising of all.
It's been reported Chris Watts was involved in an affair shortly before he murdered his wife and daughters. Many assumed the the affair was with a female coworker, however, a man who says he was Chris Watts' on-again-off-again lover shortly before the horrific crime is now speaking out.
Here is what we know so far about Chris Watts' alleged male lover:
1. The man wishes to remain anonymous.

He appeared on Ashleigh Banfield’s Crime & Justice show on Aug. 28 and claimed he had a sexual relationship with Chris for 10 months.
2. How they met.
The anonymous lover claims they met on the social media app MeetMe. “He messaged me,” the man alleged on the show. “It all seemed very innocent at first. On the profile, it didn’t have a last name or anything. It just had his last initial."
3. Chris was listed on the app as straight.
"He was listed as straight and not bi or homosexual, so I was kind of off put by it and then we talked for a while and he just told me he wasn’t truly out or comfortable being out.”
4. The first time they were intimate was on the night they met in person.
“The first time we met he came over to the place I was staying in Loveland, Colorado, which is a pretty much a neighboring town to Frederick,” Chris’ alleged lover said. “It was clear that he was interested in me and attracted to me.”
5. Chris told him he had kids but lied about being married.
The man says he knew Chris had kids, and one of the kids was the one who gave him a clue that Chris was still married. The man alleged, “there was some point in late January or early February that I met up with him and I got in his Ford pickup, and he had his daughters with him, and the oldest pretty much spilled the beans that he was still married. She asked him if she could sleep with him and mommy tonight.”
6. Chris says his wife was abusive.
Chris claimed Shanann was “verbally and emotionally abusive” and they “didn’t have sex anymore,” according to Radar Online. The anonymous lover continued, “He told me he didn’t love her. She didn’t love him. I knew something was wrong at home. If nothing was wrong, he wouldn’t have pursued me.”
7. The man hopes Chris gets convicted.
“I hope he gets convicted and I hope he stays in prison for the rest of his life,” the man told Ashleigh on Crime & Justice.
