Chris Pratt says son Jack 'loved' watching 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'

Chris Pratt says "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" has received a stamp of approval from the most important moviegoer: his 10-year-old son Jack.

During a May 3 appearance on "Good Morning America," Pratt, 43, said Jack "really loved" the film, the third in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise.

"He's a tough critic. He's not just effusive because dad's in a movie," he joked. "If he doesn't like it, he'll tell me. This one he loved."

Pratt said his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, whom he married in 2019, also caught Jack reacting to some of the more dramatic moments of the film by doing a double-take between the big screen and his dad.

"There are a couple moments where my character's in dire straits and he was watching and eating popcorn and then looking over at me and then looking up at the screen and then looking back at me," he explained. "Katherine was watching, said it was really cute."

In addition to Jack, whom Pratt shares with ex-wife Anna Faris, Pratt also has two daughters -- Lyla, 2, and Eloise, who turns 1 this month -- with Schwarzenegger. He said they're "a little young now" to expose them to his entire filmography.

The "Parks and Recreation" alum said he'll use his animated films like "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," "The Lego Movie" and "Onward" as a "gateway" to his work and will "eventually" show them the "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Jurassic World" franchises.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" features Pratt returning as Star-Lord, aka Peter Quill, to lead the titular ragtag band of misfit superheroes, which includes Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Dave Bautista as Drax and Sean Gunn as Kraglin, as well as Groot and Rocket, voiced by Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper, respectively.

Newcomers include Will Poulter, Maria Bakalova and Chukwudi Iwuji, among others.

According to the official description from Marvel Studios, Star-Lord "must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them."

With writer-director James Gunn, who has helmed the three films in the series, now head of the DC Cinematic Universe, many believe "Vol. 3" will be the end of the Guardians of the Galaxy -- but what does Pratt think?

"It's Marvel, so all kinds of things can happen. You never know," he suggested. "They've got various timelines and alternate universes and they can always probably orchestrate a way to bring somebody back."

"But it's very much written as a trilogy and feels pretty final," he added, noting that "it's tough to imagine doing it again" without Gunn.
