Chris Noth, best known for his role as Mr Big in Sex and the City and And Just Like That, has been accused of sexually assaulting two women – something the actor strongly denies. It's said by the Hollywood Reporter that the two unnamed alleged victims came forward after Noth reprised his role as Big in the new SATC reboot.

The 67-year-old has responded to the accusations by saying his encounters with Lily*, 31, and Zoe*, 40, were both consensual. When contacted for comment on the story he replied to THR with: "The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross."

He continued, "The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women."

Both women are said to have come forward to the Hollywood Reporter independently and to not know one another. One alleges they were assaulted by Noth in in 2015 (during which time Noth had been married to his wife Tara Wilson for three years) and the other in 2004 (by which point Noth and Wilson had been together for at least two years).

Speaking under a false name, Zoe alleges that she was a new graduate working in an entertainment office in 2004 when Noth pursued her. She says that he would leave flirty voicemails and deliberately walk past her desk, during a time when Sex and the City was at its peak and he was "like a God to us".

She says that Noth invited her to visit a pool in his apartment block, which she did (as a friend also lived in the building) and that they spent some time hanging out in a group in a jacuzzi, before Noth returned to his flat to take a phone call – leaving a book behind.

Zoe alleges that when she went to Noth's apartment to return the book to him, they shared a kiss (which she says she thought would one day be a "fun story" to tell her friends), but that quickly, things turned violent.

She alleges that Noth then raped her from behind, in front of a mirror, and ignored her request to use a condom. "It was very painful and I yelled out 'Stop!' and he didn’t," she said. "I said, 'Can you at least get a condom?' and he laughed at me."

Zoe also claims that she needed stitches afterwards, which she went to a local hospital to get, where she reported the assault but wouldn't name the perpetrator (out of fear of losing her job).

Lily, also a pseudonym, told THR she was working in a nightclub in New York when she met Noth in 2015. She describes herself as a fan of his and was flattered to be asked to dinner by him, only when she arrived at the restaurant, the kitchen was shut.

After drinks, Lily alleges Noth invited her back to his nearby apartment for whiskey. "We were listening to music, and he has all these books about art and fashion. He tried to make out with me. I cautiously entertained it. He’s older and looked older. He kept trying and trying and trying, and I should have said no more firmly and left. And then the next thing I knew, he pulled down his pants and he was standing in front of me."

She claims before she knew it, "He was having sex with me from the back in a chair. We were in front of a mirror. I was kind of crying as it happened."

Lily alleges Noth later messaged her saying, "By the way I have to ask did you enjoy our night last week. I thought it was a lot of fun but I wasn’t quite sure how you felt."

Noth and Wilson share two children together.
