Chris Hemsworth packed on more muscle than ever before in preparation for the recent superhero sequel Thor: Love and Thunder, as well as to get ready for the Hulk Hogan biopic in which he will play the wrestling icon. But just because he's gained some strength and size, doesn't mean he's compromised on speed or agility, as he just demonstrated in a short Instagram video where he showed off his boxing drills and laid into a heavy bag.

"Punching my way into the weekend, let's go," he wrote, tagging in Centr, the health and fitness app he founded which helps people stay on track with their wellness goals with meal plans, workouts, and guided mindfulness exercises.

Hemsworth has been a keen boxer for years, although he has one rule: body shots only. As a leading man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and beyond, he has to look after the moneymaker—and despite loving the sport, refuses to step inside the ring. Instead, he trains with Jorge Blanco, the UFC coach who has also worked with MMA fighter Georges St-Pierre.

His friend and trainer Luke Zocchi, who has known Hemsworth since they were kids, recalled how at the age of 16, he couldn't lure Hemsworth into sparring as he already knew then he wanted to be an actor and needed to protect his good looks.

"He didn't want to ruin that pretty face," Zocchi told Insider earlier this year. "I used to say, 'do you want to do a few rounds in the ring?' and he was like 'No way! I'm going to Hollywood, I can't get punched in the face!'"
