Chris Hemsworth Just Performed Miley Cyrus's Song "Wrecking Ball"

Miley allegedly wrote the song about his brother Liam.

It’s been five years since Miley Cyrus released “Wrecking Ball,” the pop ballad she allegedly wrote about her break-up with actor Liam Hemsworth. The couple reconciled in 2015 and these days, their relationship seems to be very strong. I mean, have you heard “Malibu?” Have you seen the photos of Miley and Liam gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes at the Vanity Fair Oscar party? Clearly, #Miam is back and better than ever.

But Liam’s big brother, Chris Hemsworth, hasn’t forgotten the trials of the “Wrecking Ball” era. On Wednesday, the Avengers actor shared a tribute on social media where he and his family performed the hit. Surrounded by his three children — Sasha, India, and Tristan — and one adorable dog, Hemsworth’s legendary lip sync quickly devolved into total chaos in 26 seconds of pure, heart-warming dad goals.

"What started as a ground breaking music video ended in a savage attack by a cowardly K9. Never work with Kids or Animals. #wreckingball #wreckingdog #daddydaycare #murderonthedancefloor @mileycyrus @liamhemsworth,” he captioned the clip. The homemade music video has now earned more than 7 million views on Instagram, but because “Wrecking Ball” recalls a potentially dark time for his younger brother, the video left some questioning whether there’s any bad blood between Miley and soon-to-be-brother-in-law Chris. “There’s just so much to unpack here? Didn’t Miley write this song about Liam?? I guess this means it’s not awkward when he listens to it???” one fan tweeted. But Miley herself also jumped in to give feedback on the video, tweeting it with three red heart emojis.

Chris’s choice of song might seem like a shady throwback, given that Miley is now writing much happier songs about her relationship. But if you need proof the love is mutual, her response on Twitter should clear up any confusion. Not one but three heart emojis? I rest my case.
