On Cuomo Prime Time Monday night, Chris Cuomo slammed President Trump for returning to the White House just three days after announcing he had tested positive for COVID-19. After spending the weekend at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, during which speculation on the president’s health ran rampant, he returned home on Monday and made a spectacle of doing so. Trump walked up the steps of the White House and immediately removed his mask for a photo op. This, along with insisting on driving by his supporters so he could wave at them while members of the Secret Service were in the vehicle, putting them at risk, caused Cuomo to lose any compassion he might have had for the president and what he’s going through with the illness. Cuomo went so far as to call Trump a “COVIDIOT.”
CHRIS CUOMO: I hold rallies. And I tell you to ignore masks. And I rip mine off as I vanquish the virus because I am a leader. Fear not, COVID. What a bunch of bull [BLEEP].
KYLIE MAR: CNN's Chris Cuomo slammed President Trump Monday night for returning to the White House just a few days after testing positive for COVID-19. Trump made his return, as others in Trump's inner circle, including White House staff, are now also testing positive.
CHRIS CUOMO: The White House is literally what we fear the most-- a rash of contagion called a cluster. You want a metaphor; you've got a president who is a drunk driver who is pushing others to drive drunk.
KYLIE MAR: Before leaving Walter Reed Medical Center on Monday, Trump posted a tweet telling his followers not to be afraid of the virus. And upon returning to the White House, the president immediately removed his mask for a photo op.
CHRIS CUOMO: Now, I don't have to feign any extra measure of compassion because he went out there. Whatever happens now is on him. The White House is a cluster. He returned to a cluster and took his mask off.
KYLIE MAR: And Cuomo borrowed a trending topic from Twitter to properly express himself.
CHRIS CUOMO: That is covidiotacy. He's a covidiot. [GASPS] You're disrespecting the president. No, he disrespected the presidency. All that's left is the residue of outrage 'cause that's the only emotion I have.
