Chloe x Halle have had a busy few weeks. With a new album on the way, the sisterly duo has been steadily releasing new music, with their most recent single and video, “Do It,” hitting streaming services on Friday, May 15. To celebrate the release, Chloe x Halle gave a complete performance of the new track for the first time at Teen Vogue’s Virtual Prom on Saturday, and it’s safe to say it was a total hit.
Clad in coordinating black and silver outfits with bold lipstick and jewelry to match, the sisters shared a super-glam, at-home rendition of the energetic track. With lyrics all about getting dressed up and partying with your friends, it was the perfect anthem for prom night — even, and perhaps especially, a virtual one.
According to the sisters, “Do It” is meant to send a positive and uplifting message amid the current circumstances of the world. “During this time, music brings a lot of healing,” Chloe x Halle said, per a press release. “We hope this song inspires someone to get up and dance, shake all the stress and anxiety away, and to ‘Do It’ as the song says.” The pair adds that they’re always serious about the musicality of their songs, but this track offers a more carefree vibe on purpose. “We felt so good writing a song that will make people wanna bop to it and lift their spirits.”
The music video for the track offers up a ton of glam, gorgeous backdrops, and fun choreography that is well on its way to becoming a TikTok trend. To make it official, Chloe x Halle posted their “Do It” challenge video to their Instagram page this weekend, urging their followers to try the dance moves themselves.
The sisters have also been highlighting some of their favorite fan videos in their IG stories, so what are you waiting for?
