Tracy Spiridakos celebrated former co-star Jesse Lee Soffer's directorial debut in new photos on Instagram.

The actors of Chicago P.D. are celebrating the return of Jesse Lee Soffer in his new role as director.

Following his departure from his role as fan-favorite Jay Halstead, Soffer, 38, returned to the set in the Windy City to direct an upcoming episode of the police procedural, and his co-stars are nothing short of ecstatic.

Actress Tracy Spiridakos, 34, took to Instagram on Tuesday, Feb. 7 to share behind-the-scenes photos of Soffer making a comeback to the set in a director role this time, and the pics are sure to delight any fan of the show.

In the post, Soffer is seen reuniting with former co-star Jason Beghe and Spiridakos, a.k.a. his onscreen wife, Detective Hailey Upton, who he left behind for an army job in Bolivia at the start of the season. But in a fresh reversal of their characters' tearful goodbyes, Spiridakos and Soffer were seen smiling ear-to-ear in the new photos from behind the camera.

Just days ago, Soffer made his fans' hearts complete when he shared Instagram snaps from his new role on the set. "Back at it. Just different :)," he captioned the post, which featured another snap of him and Spiridakos smiling together.
