A Chic Los Angeles Home Designed in Just One Week

Ever wonder what a designer’s own home looks like? If Beatrice’s digs are any indication, those spaces are on point. As the co-founder of Hutch, a brilliant home decor app, she knows a thing or two about crafting gorgeous rooms and her own beach meets eclectic Los Angeles apartment is the proof. And she gets extra brownie points for whipping it together in one week. One week! Take the full tour below.

Beatrice Fischel-Bock is the CEO & Co-Founder of Hutch, the home decor app that that mixes 3D technology with online shopping to let you virtually redecorate your home. Bea recently redesigned her Los Angeles Spanish-style bungalow, which she completed using Hutch - and in one week! Bea browsed the array of content and various Hitch filters to spark her design inspiration. The game changer was swapping out different, specific products as she was able to visualize different styles and looks for each of her rooms in her own space.

This lead to the end result, which has now inspired three new Hutch design filters: Petite Boudoir Bedroom | Collected Feminine Living Room | Textured Tulum Dining Room

Bea's living room is all about the ensemble. She spiced up a crisp linen sofa with patterned pillows and a textured throw, and adorned surfaces like consoles and mantles with accent decor so each has its moment. Bea tied it together with a vintage-style rug while photos, plants and collected pieces serve as the perfect finishing touches.

From Bea...I moved into this house in September 2015. I was originally drawn to the beach and only looked for places in Venice but then came across this amazing home in West Hollywood. It had so much character and was perfect for what I was looking for. I really wanted a place that had some integrity, and especially a place that was very California.

I would say my design style is California contemporary collected. I gravitate towards neutrals for key pieces and like to bring in color with accents and art. My goal was to create a space where I could relax and unwind.

My mom is an artist so I have picked up art throughout the years from my travels and visiting local flea markets. So some personal pieces of hers are mixed in as well. I used Hutch to find the newer art, and mixed and matched styles and mediums to give the wall a collected feel. Not everything may go perfectly for everyone, but art is truly personal and I surround myself with pieces that make me happy.
