The highly anticipated Cheltenham Festival is underway, with horse racing fans turning out in the hundreds, including Queen Camilla and Zara Tindall.

The races began on Tuesday 12 March, when 11mm of rain fell at the course, leading to the cancellation of the Cross Country Chase on Wednesday 13 March due to a waterlogged track.

Despite the weather washout and grey clouds, racegoers donned their best and brightest looks to the tracks. Many dressed in loud colours and tall fascinators, with colour co-ordinated suits proving popular.

Fashion has always played a major role at Cheltenham Festival, especially on the second day. This day was previously known as Ladies Day, and would historically see women attendees, celebrities and members of the royal family showing off their high fashion looks.

But this year, it has been renamed as "Style Wednesday" and is open to both men and women.

A spokesperson said: "This year we re-launched day two of the festival as Style Wednesday to celebrate 'fast horses, slow fashion', encouraging racegoers to make more sustainable fashion choices, showcasing their unique and personal style, and to share the stories behind their amazing outfits with friends, family and on social media.

"This includes re-wearing outfits they already have in their wardrobes, purchasing timeless garments to wear again and again and also buying from retailers specialising in pre-loved clothing."
