Chelsea Handler added a side of snark and political statement to her latest shopping trip.

“A Jew and a Gay went to pick a Muslim up from the airport, headed straight to Nordstrom, and then headed over to @whitehouse to give our thanks!” the comedian shared in a caption on Instagram alongside a photo of herself with Quinn Murphy, her makeup artist, left, and her driver, Omar. All three, posing in front of the White House, hold multiple grey shopping bags from the retailer that recently dropped Ivanka Trump’s label.

The post, shared on Thursday, drew mixed reactions.

“Love you, Chelsea Handler! Positivity! We are FOR the marginalized. We are not against anyone,” Jenn Ulschak wrote on Facebook. “May every garment in your bag have the sweet feel of justice against your skin. Carry on, sister!” Denton Melvin shared on Twitter, “The world needs more of this.” Others simply wrote “LOL,” “Love it!” and “LMAO!”

But others did not find humor in her photo.

Multiple commenters called out Handler, a self-proclaimed feminist, for being hypocritical. “So much for empowering women huh, celebrating Ivanka being dropped… all these celebs are a dime a dozen, pathetic,” Elizabeth Durán shared. “So this is your way of respecting women? Your entire career is based on making fun of others and fowl language. Just saying,” Stacy Renae wrote.

Many also called Handler too “political,” although it should be noted that the New Jersey native openly supported former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton throughout the campaign. She also famously doesn’t have a filter, which applies to her social media pages as well (her topless pic on top of a horse mocking Putin is a prime example).

Last week, Nordstrom announced it was dropping Ivanka Trump products from its website, citing “poor sales” as the reason for the change. The decision followed President Trump’s executive order that banned immigrants from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States. Although the company released a memo that expressed support for immigrants just days before dropping Ivanka Trump’s label, Nordstrom denied any connection.

“They couldn’t handle the political pressure, someone new came in, and there was a change in the attitude toward the brand,” a source told Refinery29.

In support of his daughter, POTUS tweeted on Wednesday, “My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!” That day, Nordstrom stock rose 4 percent, closing at $44.53, jumping $1.75 per share.

In addition to Chelsea Handler, social media, celebrities, and shoppers have rallied behind Nordstrom.

Since then, other brands have followed suit, including TJMaxx and Marshalls, which instructed its employees to remove Ivanka Trump merchandise being featured in stores.
