Cheese tea is a social-media sensation

Are you thinking what we’re thinking? Tea and cheese just don’t go together, right? Well, based on its huge Instagram following, the popular drink is having a major moment! Fans of the trendy brew are using the hashtag #cheesetea to share their experiences. Cheese tea originated in Taiwan, spread throughout Asia, and has now invaded the U.S. Shops like Little Fluffy Head Cafe in Los Angeles offer the concoction in different flavors. Jenny Zheng, owner of the tea shop, says you’ll be surprised by the yummy taste. “When I tried it, it was refreshingly good and well-balanced with the tea flavor.” She also says it’s an “acquired taste,” but that the more you have it, the more you get used to it. The drink is made by taking your favorite tea, from matcha to herbal, and topping it off with a whipped cheese foam, which has a flavor similar to cannoli filling. The foam is made using milk, whipping cream, pink salt, and sugar. Many praise cheese tea for its smooth and creamy taste. If you’re itching to try it, fans recommend skipping the straw so you can enjoy the blend of both flavors.
