Thanksgiving day is upon us and we're heading to Charlie Brown's house to celebrate—as per Peppermint Patty's request. The classic 1973 film A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving follows the Peanuts gang as they take on turkey day, learn the true meaning of gratitude, and tackle obstacles along the way.

This year, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will air on PBS and PBS Kids on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. CT.

Now, if you're wondering why the animated special is airing on PBS instead of ABC, there's a reason for that. As you may recall, ABC lost its rights to air the Charlie Brown holiday specials last month as Apple TV+ became the new home for all things Peanuts. In fact, the franchise's Halloween special, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, was not shown on television this year for the first time in 54 consecutive years. While Apple TV+ did offer non-members the chance to stream the Halloween classic for free between October 30 through November 1, 2020, viewers who were accustomed to annually tuning in on network television were upset. A Change.org petition was started to bring back the holiday classics to TV. It currently has garnered over 260,000 signatures and counting.

Fortunately, PBS stepped in and secure the rights to air the specials on TV. A Charlie Brown Christmas will also air on PBS this year on December 13 (time TBA).

Currently, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is available to stream on Apple TV+ right now for all subscribers. If you're not a subscriber of Apple TV+, the program will be free to stream for all from November 25 to November 27, 2020. But if Apple TV+ isn't your choice of platform, you can still catch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on PBS and PBS Kids this Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. CT! Talk about something to be grateful for!
