Charli and Dixie D'Amelio's Relationship Is Stronger Than Ever, Thanks to Makeup

·4 min read

In case you missed it, last summer Charli and Dixie D'Amelio broke the internet with an announcement: Morphe 2, a then-new sub-brand in partnership with Morphe with the mega-famous sister duo at the helm of the creative. One year later, the TikTok stars (who are 17 and 19 years old, respectively) are announcing their latest release, a collection of five multi-purpose palettes called Quad Goals, available for purchase on May 25.

Each of the five pocket-sized, circular "multi-palettes," as the brand calls them, comes with four powders and creams that can be used on the eyes, cheeks, and lips. The shades are stacked one right on top of the other — like four individual makeup compacts just got smushed into one convenient package — and come in matte, glitter, shimmer, and gloss finishes. All of the five shade options (nude, pink, purple, peach, and gold) are staple-worthy additions to any makeup routine, especially for folks who are constantly on the go, because they apply perfectly with nothing but the fingertips. As the duo reveals to Allure, the project has been in the works for quite some time.

"We've been working hard on this drop, and it feels like a culmination of the past year," explains Charli with excitement over Zoom. "It's very aesthetic and fun," adds Dixie about the latest product for on-the-go beauty needs.

To celebrate Morphe 2's latest drop, we spoke with the sisters about the drop, sisterhood, and, of course, confidence.

Allure: The last time we spoke, we conversed about how quarantine changed your relationship to beauty and self-care. How would you each describe your relationship to beauty right now?

Charli D'Amelio: It's crazy to think about how far I've come. I've learned and grown so much. I love makeup now, and I love that I can use all my friends' palettes.

Allure: How has collaborating as business partners influenced your personal relationship with each other?

Dixie D'Amelio: It gives us more time to hang out. We're always so busy these days, but we get to hang out when we collaborate.

Charli: She's at my house right now. Usually, Dixie would be at her apartment. I love when we can come together and make it a big sister moment.

Allure: How has working together with Morphe influenced your relationship with makeup?

Dixie: I think Charli gets a lot of makeup inspiration from me. I used to always do my makeup so quickly in the car on the way to school.

Charli: If I see Dixie using something, I go and look it up. The first time I tried highlighter, I got a specific one because my sister was using it. I remember I was super, super excited to do my makeup like Dixie. Copying my big sister for most of my life has helped me turn into the person that I am.

Allure: What about this new launch excites you most?

Charli: I feel like we've grown so much from our first drop, and people connect with Morphe 2 now. I've learned so much from this experience, and I'm getting more specific about my input and feedback. I feel like Morphe 2 has also helped us make our leap into the beauty world.

Allure: We love products that multitask. How do you each use the multifaceted product in this drop?

Charli: It's the lip and blush for me. They work as both, and that is something super, super cool.

Dixie: They're the best.

Charli: It's everything in one. That was just mind-blowing to me when I saw it in person for the first time. It's like one product can be three different looks.

Allure: Your work is always centered around confidence. When do you each feel the most self-assured?

Charli: Sometimes I feel confident with a bare face, and sometimes I feel confident in a full face of makeup. No matter what, though, Dixie can always make me feel confident.

Dixie: Confidence comes from within. It's is not about how much makeup you wear or how you look.

Charli: Confidence comes at crazy times. Sometimes it's the middle of the night, and I'm like, "Wow, I feel great." And sometimes it's right in the middle of an interview, and I'm like, "I feel super confident." Whether it's what I'm saying or what product I have on my face, confidence comes from within.
