Charli D'Amelio Won 'Dancing With the Stars' 2022 and Gabby Windey Fans Are Losing It

It’s official: The Mirrorball champions of Dancing With the Stars season 31 are Charli D'Amelio and Mark Ballas.

From the start, judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Derek Hough noticed the TikToker's natural ease around the ballroom. Still, she had to give it her all to pull ahead of her fellow competitors during Monday night’s finale. After Dancing With the Stars season 31 kicked off earlier this fall in September on Disney+, the two-month-long competition dwindled down to Charli, The Bachelorette co-host Gabby Windey, Whose Line Is It Anyway? star Wayne Brady and TV personality Shangela.

Throughout the highly anticipated ending of the historic installment, the Hulu star made an impression but she solidified her skills when she and Mark performed a lively jive to "Grown" by Little Mix. The duo rounded out the evening with their freestyle routine to "Us Again" by Pinar Toprak. While the other three celebrity pairs scored impressive numbers, Charli's consistent work and her fans' unwavering support ultimately helped her clinch the win.

Unsurprisingly, Charli’s fans wasted no time heading over to Twitter to celebrate the news when Dancing With the Stars host co-hosts Tyra Banks and Alfonso Ribeiro announced the final results.

“CHARLI AND MARK DESERVED IT. I SCREAMED AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS WHEN THEY ANNOUNCED THEM BOTH. IM SO HAPPY. CONGRATS!!! ❤️❤️❤️,” one person wrote. “After that freestyle — Charli and Mark earned that win. That was an impressive freestyle that showcased what the show is all about,” another added. “I’M HONESTLY SO PROUD OF CHARLI AND MARK!! Congrats on winning the mirrorball trophy ⭐️ You both worked so hard throughout the competition.. I knew you could do it ♥️,” a different fan said.

But understandably, there were also folks who voiced their disappointment that Gabby didn’t win. Like Charli, the former Bachelor contestant quickly became a fan-favorite.

“Should’ve been Gabby 😭😭😭😭😭,” a follower commented. “Gabby was robbed of her rightfully deserved mirrorball and no one can tell me otherwise,” someone else chimed in. “[Not going to lie] I’m sad as hell right now … I really really wanted Gabby & Val to win ... I’m actually heartbroken but congratulations to Charli & Mark, they were great,” a viewer tweeted.

In the end, Charli was just as stunned by the results as folks were. Moments before holding the Mirrorball trophy, she shared her gratitude with fans, Mark and her mom, Heidi, who competed alongside her.
