Charles Woodson says Michigan will beat Ohio State in 2018
It’s never too soon for trash talk when it comes to the Michigan and Ohio State rivalry.
Former Michigan defensive back and Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson spoke at Michigan’s commencement ceremony on Saturday and guaranteed a win over the Buckeyes when the two teams meet in November of 2018.
“I talked about Desmond [Howard] and myself running down that sideline to victory against you know who, and you know what, you guys haven’t experienced that feeling very much against that school,” Woodson said, addressing a senior class that didn’t experience a win over the Buckeyes. “It hurts my heart, it really does.
“But I’m telling you here today, 212 days from now, your Michigan Wolverines team will go down to Columbus, march into that stadium and we will beat you know who to bring back that familiar feeling of victory back to The University of Michigan again,” he said to a roar of applause from the audience.
Man, the addition of Shea Patterson really has the Wolverines confident, doesn’t it? Patterson, a transfer from Ole Miss, was declared immediately eligible by the NCAA on Friday. He’ll likely be the team’s starting quarterback in 2018.
Patterson and the Michigan football team weren’t around to hear Woodson’s trash talk, however. They’re currently in France as coach Jim Harbaugh has taken the Wolverines on another European excursion.
Maybe this Europe trip and Woodson’s proclamation will put Michigan in a good spot — you get the joke, right? The Wolverines haven’t beaten Ohio State since 2011.
