If there is one big night out when directional fashion should rule the red carpet, it is the CFDA Awards. This year the best looks pointed strongly toward all things super-glitz or slinky modern. To wit: Fashion influencer recipient Kim Kardashian West was a modern bombshell in Rick Owens, while Naomi Campbell exhibited supermodel dazzle in Calvin Klein. Cate Blanchett, Lupita Nyong’o, and Sarah Paulson all argued for the return of wicked romance in looks by Monse, Versace, and Brock Collection. It was a winning night all around.
