Celtics' Stevens raves about Kyle Lowry prior to Christmas showdown
Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry is in fantastic form lately, and the rest of the league is surely taking notice.
Lowry commandeered the Raptors to their greatest comeback in franchise history on Dec. 22 against the Dallas Mavericks, leading his team back from a 30-point deficit for a 110-107 victory. For his efforts, Lowry earned Eastern Conference Player of the Week honours.
The Raptors host their first Christmas game in franchise history and their opponent certainly won’t be sleeping on Lowry and the rest of the defending champions.

Lowry is averaging 20.7 points, 7.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 42.1 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from three-point range, and ought to be in strong contention for his sixth All-Star nomination.
Stevens was made aware that All-Star voting has commenced and it appears that Lowry may have earned his vote.
This isn’t the first time that Stevens has raved about Lowry or the Raptors this season. Following a narrow 112-106 victory on Oct. 25, Stevens noted that the NBA’s coaching fraternity is “scared to death” of the Raptors and shot down the notion that the team is being taken lightly after Kawhi Leonard’s departure in free agency.
Ultimately, it’s a sign of respect from two strong competitors but expect this exchange to become a lot less civil when the Christmas Day showcase tips off at noon, featuring the two Atlantic Division rivals.
