These celebs don't hold back when it comes to Halloween

No one knows how to do over-the-top Halloween costumes quite like celebrities. Each year, Hollywood’s finest scare up ghoulish garb and parade it around at glamorous parties for everyone to see, and this year is no exception.

The star of “Black-ish,” Tracee Ellis Ross, took inspiration from one of the year’s hottest films, “Black Panther,” and transformed into superstar Nakia. The superhero look was all the rage this year, echoed by Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Harley Quinn and Halsey’s shimmering Poison Ivy. Rita Ora, meanwhile, was almost unrecognizable — sporting face tattoos and a beard just like rapper Post Malone.

Looking for something a bit more glam? Supermodel Cindy Crawford also went retro as she sported a marvelously mod flight attendant outfit. Her accessories? Husband Rande Gerber and BFF George Clooney as her copilots. One of the most hilarious of the night was “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland’s adorable couple costume. She threw on a taco while boyfriend Wells Adams was Belle from “Beauty and the Beast.” Both were great on their own, but together they formed the ultimate — wait for it —Taco Belle. Olivia Munn paid tribute to another of the year’s biggest blockbusters, suiting up as breakout character Peik Lin Goh from “Crazy Rich Asians.”

Film flashbacks were a trend all around, even with Kendall Jenner. The trendsetter showed off her spot-on Fembot look from “Austin Powers,” complete with a tiny designer handbag. Harry Styles decided to do a ’70s throwback as he put on a sparkly suit and did his very best vintage Elton John. Also stepping into the shoes of a music icon was Gabrielle Union. Union left “No Doubt” in our minds that her Gwen Stefani impersonation would win any costume contest.
