The celebrity couples who split in 2020
Heartache and relationships woes are bad enough without having a global pandemic thrown in on top.
But sometimes breakups are just unavoidable and the best option for all those involved.
Some couples found the pressure of lockdown too much for their relationships to survive this year, while others just ran their course.

Here are some of the big celebrity breakups we’ve seen in 2020
Jesy Nelson and Chris Hughes
Sparks first flew between Jesy Nelson and Chris Hughes in 2019, with their burgeoning romance captured early in some particularly memorable photos of the pair locking lips in a south London kebab shop.
However, it was reported that their romance came to an amicable end in April.
The pair didn’t officially confirm it at the time, but the Little Mix star went on to delete all traces of the Love Island alum from her Instagram weeks later.
Hughes had featured in Nelson's acclaimed documentary Odd One Out, which explored the effects of cyberbullying on the singer – who went on to leave Little Mix in December citing mental health reasons.
The BBC programme won an NTA back in January and she attended the ceremony with the reality star, who was later seen engaged in an altercation with a photographer that same night.
Jessie J and Channing Tatum
Jessie J and Channing Tatum's on and off relationship came to an end once again in 2020.
They made the red carpet together back in January at the MusiCares Person of the Year awards, not long after they’d been said to have called it quits on their romance in December 2019.

In April, it was reported by People that they had amicably called it quits again.
Then in October, Jessie implied she was living the "single life" in a post to Instagram, seemingly confirming it was officially over between them.
Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins
Love Island's Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins ended earlier their relationship this year after they originally found love on the 2019 series of the show.
There had been rumours of cheating on Pritchard's behalf, something he strenuously denied.

Higgins has since got together with Chris Taylor, who competed on the series alongside them.
Pritchard went on to say he felt betrayed by the romance as he had questioned their close friendship before.
Cardi B and Offset
Cardi B and Offset’s on and off relationship continued into 2020 after the WAP hitmaker filed for divorce in September, calling the relationship "irretrievably broken".
However, Cardi had the case dismissed "without prejudice" in November when the pair's relationship publicly started up again at her 28th birthday celebrations.
She told fans: "I just be starting to miss [him]. It's hard not to talk to your best friend. It's really hard not to talk to your best friend."
Their union has been surrounded with suggestions of infidelity on Offset's part.
They married in private in 2017 before splitting in December 2018. The Migos star publicly pleaded for his wife, with whom he shares daughter Kulture, to take him back and she eventually did.
Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock
Singer Kelly Clarkson split from her husband of almost seven years Brandon Blackstock earlier this year as she filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.
The pair welcomed two children during their marriage, daughter River and son Remington.

It was revealed she had won primary custody of their children. To make matters even more complicated, she later claimed her ex had defrauded her of millions.
Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson
Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson's two-year relationship came to an end in the spring.
Neither made an official statement on their parting of ways but Delevingne did comment when Benson appeared to receive criticism for being pictured getting cosy with rapper G-Eazy not long after.
"It's more important now more than ever to spread love, not hate," the model posted on her Instagram story.
"To everyone hating on @ashleybenson, please stop. You don't know the truth, only her and I do and that's exactly how it should be."
As of December 2020, Benson and G-Eazy, whose real name is Gerald Gillum, are still together.
Pamela Anderson and Jon Peters
Pamela Anderson squeezed in a marriage and divorce this year – all in 12 days.
It was claimed she had tied the knot with producer Jon Peters on 20 January only for it to all come to an end on 1 February.
On 22 January, Anderson posted a throwback picture of the pair, as they had previously dated 30 years previously, with the caption "Pamela Peters".

However, in May the Baywatch star denied they had ever got married in the first place.
Peters told Page Six she had proposed to him via text and that he had paid off $200,000 of her debts, something she denied. Although it was reported that she confirmed Peters did write her a cheque for $100,000 after their breakup.
Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler
April saw the demise of reality star Kristin Cavallari and American football player Jay Cutler's six-year marriage.
The news was delivered via the same post to their respective Instagram accounts, stating it was "with great sadness" that they were ending their 10-year relationship.

Clarifying their reasons, they shared: "This is just the situation of two people growing apart."
The pair, who have three children together in Camden, 7, Jaxon, 5, and Saylor, 4, said they had "nothing but love and respect" for each other.
