2022 saw a lot of shocking breakups. Nia Long and fiancé Ime Udoka were together for 13 years before their split, Toni Collette and her now ex-husband Dave Galafassi were together for 20 until their divorce and Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady were one of Hollywood’s biggest couples for 15 years before calling it quits.

The year also saw new couples ending it unexpectedly early too. Pete Davidson and Emily Ratajkowski, for example, made headlines before splitting after being briefly spotted together. And Chelsea Handler & Jo Koy seemed to be all over each other before announcing their breakup right on their first anniversary. Call it a cursed year or just par for the course, 2022 was definitely a dark cloud over many of our favorite celebrity couples.

So as we prepare for the new year ahead, let’s hope the best for the couples we’ve shipped for years (Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds and Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, we’re looking at you!) We hope 2023 is full of love and cupid throwing his arrow, for celebrities and everyone else!

After less than a year together, Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford have called it quits. Per Page Six, a representative confirmed it saying “We can confirm Billie and Jesse did split amicably and remain good friends.” Their relationship was quite controversial with their 10 year age gap and old age-play Halloween costume.

After a little over three years of marriage, The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White and his wife Addison Timlin are parting ways. Timlin filed for divorce on May 11, per TMZ. The two started dating as teens after meeting on the set of the 2008 film Afterschool and got married in October 2019.

The two share two daughters: Ezer, 4, and Dolores, 2. Reps for Whitet and Timlin have not responded to comment from mulitple outlets.

After 11 years of marriage, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak-Biermann has filed for divorce from her husband, Kroy Biermann. TMZ first broke the news on May 8 after obtaining court documents.

Reportedly, Zolciak is asking for primary physical custody of their four kids: sons Kroy “KJ” Jr., 11, and Kash, 10, and twins Kaia and Kane, 9.

At the beginning of May, Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce from Kevin Costner after 18 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action,” Costner’s rep said in a statement to People. “We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time,” added the rep.

Costner and Baumgartner got married in September 2004 and share three children, sons Cayden, 15, and Hayes 14, and daughter Grace, 12.

After a little less than six months together, Alexander A.E. Edwards and Cher have reportedly called it quits. Their relationship not only caused a lot of controversy with their nearly 40-year age gap, but also caused people to believe they got engaged after less than a month together. However, it sadly seems that they’ve separated.

After nearly three years together, Alev Aydin and Halsey have called it quits. In documents obtained by People, Halsey requested full physical custody of their nearly two-year-old child Ender, with “reasonable visitation” to Aydin.

Country music star Jimmie Allen recently announced he and his wife Alexis Gale have broken up. “After much thought and reflection in recent months, Lex & I have made the decision to separate,” the singer wrote. “As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child together later this year.”

“Our number one priority is and always will be ensuring that our children are healthy, happy and loved, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another,” he continued. “In light of our growing family, we respectfully request privacy during this time.” Gale and Alexis already share two kids together and have been married since May 2021.

After nearly four years together, Toni Garrn and Alex Pettyfer have called it quits. Garrn shared the news on Instagram, via DailyMail, saying “Alex and I have made the difficult decision to divorce.” They got engaged in late 2019 after less than a year together, marrying in Oct 2020. Then in June 2022, they had a second marriage ceremony. They share one daughter together.

After 11 years of marriage, Shannen Doherty has filed for divorce from Kurt Iswarienko, after initially separating in Jan of this year. Doherty’s rep told People: “Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted. Unfortunately, she felt she was left with no other option.”

The pair first got together in 2008 after they met at a party. They later got engaged in 2011, and stood strong throughout Doherty’s cancer battle.

Drake Bell’s wife Janet Von Schmeling has filed for divorce against the Drake & Josh alum, per TMZ. According to the outlet, Schmeling filed the papers this week stating irreconcilable differences. The two have been married for four years and share one-year-old Wyatt Bell.

Rapper Yung Miami confirmed her split from Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in a recent interview with The Cut. “We’re still good friends! But we’re single,” she said. “That’s not my man. We had our own situation, I’m not gonna put a title on it.”

Imagine Dragons vocalist Dan Reynolds is officially parting ways with estranged ex-wife Aja Volkman. According to TMZ, Volkman filed for divorce on April 18 even though the two have been separated since September 2022.

Big Brother stars Taylor Hale and Joseph Abdin have called it quits. Hale announced the news on her Instagram Story writing, “Joseph and I made the decision to love and support one another as best friends going forward.”

“We recognize this is what’s best for both of our futures at this time. This decision was made with lots of love, care, and acknowledgment of how special our relationship is to the both of us,” she continued. “Ain’t no love lost over here! We will always be part of each other’s lives. Whether platonic or romantic we are, and always will be, Jaylor.”

After six years together, Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have shockingly called it quits. Per ETOnline, the two broke up a few weeks before the announcement on April 8, also reporting that the two split amicably.

Max Minghella and Elle Fanning have ended their nearly five-year relationship. Fanning confirmed the news with Harper’s Bazaar U.K. that she is single, saying, “But I’m a hopeless romantic. I believe in love at first sight. Call me crazy, but I believe in those things. I feel that it’s my destiny.”

They first started dating after meeting on the set of 2018’s Teen Spirit.

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Eva Marcille and her husband since 2018 Michael Sterling have reportedly called it quits, per Page Six. According to the outlet, Marcille filed for divorce claiming their relationship is “irretrievably broken” and that “there are no prospects for a reconciliation.” The two share two kids together, Michael Jr., 5, and Maverick, 4, and Sterling also adopted Marcille’s first child, Marley, 9 from her previous relationship.

Married since 2011, Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth have unexpectedly announced their divorce. The pair broke the news on the actress’ Instagram on March 24. “We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the statement read. “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

The message continued, “Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.” The two share one son together, 10-year-old Tennessee James.

Though this couple kept their relationship low-key since their beginning in 2019, Brie Larson and longtime boyfriend Elijah Allan-Blitz are no longer together. The Captain Marvel star broke the news in a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “I don’t have a next job. I don’t have a home. I don’t have a partner. I don’t have a plan. I’m just completely open,” she told the outlet about her next steps.

Former Good Morning America host Amy Robach and actor Andrew Shue have finalized their divorce almost six months after their split, according to Daily Mail. The two, who had been married since 2010, will share custody of their dog, Brody.

Vanderpump Rules stars Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix have called it quits. Per TMZ, the couple, who have been together since 2014, broke up after Madix found out about alleged cheating rumors of Tom and their fellow costar Raquel Leviss. The two have yet to post or speak out about their split on social media though reports show it’s all being filmed for the show. Talk about messy!

After five years together, Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams and Reuben Selby have called it quits. She shared the news on her Instagram story per People, saying, “@reubenselby_ and I decided to end our relationship,” Williams, 25, continued. “Since we met 5 years ago, our connection always extended deeply into our shared, and separate, creative careers … and it will continue to do so. This decision is something we are so grateful for so as we can protect the magic, that we can’t help but emit, whenever we put out brains together.”

After almost a year since their engagement, it appears that musicians Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun are no longer tying the knot. The news was confirmed by a rep of Lavigne to Page Six on Feb 21, adding that it was the “Complicated” was the one who made the decision. Shortly after, a rep from Mod Sun spoke to TMZ claiming the singer wasn’t aware of the breakup. “They were together and engaged as of three days ago when he left for tour so if anything has changed that’s news to him,” the reps told the outlet. Though the details are still fuzzy, it looks like this is the ends for these two.

Megan Fox seemingly confirmed that her relationship with Machine Gun Kelly had ended when she wiped all the photos of him from her Instagram and posted a solo photo of herself alongside the caption, “”You can taste the dishonesty/ it’s all over your breath,” per PEOPLE.

After two years together, Pam & Tommy star Lily James and Michael Shuman have called it quits. A report from Yahoo showed that the two seemingly drifted apart over time from their hectic schedules, but wish each other the best.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott have split once again after rekindling their romance in February 2020, Us Weekly reported. “This has happened so many times before, they’re known to be on again off again, but always remain friends and great coparents,” a source told the outlet.

Jenner and Scott, who share 4-year-old Stormi and their 11-month-old son together, have been on-and-off since early 2017.
