From Cosmopolitan

Naming your kid is stressful. It's so much responsibility! You want to call your future bb something cool and distinctive so they stand out in their third grade roll call. Their moniker needs to signal to the world that you have excellent taste, good values, some creativity, maybe a dash of imagination. You know, some research even suggests that your name can determine your personality, and how you're perceived by others—no big deal!

If you're expecting pretty soon or are just looking for more names to add to your Pinterest board because babies are very much on the back burner right now, go ahead and read through this list of the best celebrity baby names for inspiration. I'll admit, some are a tad more...eccentric than others. But hey! You never know. You may just find The One™️ for your eventual offspring here.

Atlas Noa Babel

Shay Mitchell and Matte Babel gave birth to their daughter Atlas Noa in October 2019, and Shay told Vogue that she got the name inspo from a friend: "A close friend of ours was listing off names for her daughter that she had had a year and a half ago. Then she said 'Atlas' and I looked at Matte, and he looked at me, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh.” Sounds like they pretty instantly knew it was the one for their lil angel.

Slash Electric Alexander Edwards

Model Amber Rose and Alexander Edwards, the Vice President of Artists and Repertoire for Def Jam Records, welcomed their first child, Slash Electric Alexander Edwards, in October 2019. I personally kinda love this moniker; "Slash Electric" sounds badass. Rose also shares a son, Sebastian, with rapper Wiz Khalifa.

Winter Mercy Morissette-Treadway

The third bb of singer Alanis Morissette and rapper Mario "Souleye" Treadway, Winter Mercy Morissette-Treadway, was brought into this world on August 8th, 2019. A bit of a mouthful, to be sure, but he's in good company alongside his siblings, Ever Imre and Onyx Solace.

Banks Violet Bair

The second child for Hilary Duff and first for her husband Matthew Koma, Banks Violet, was born in 2018 via a water birth. Last year, Hilary shared this beautifully intimate footage of the moment she met Banks for the very first time. Hilary also has a son named Luca she shares with ex Mike Comrie.

Callum Michael Rebel Kazee

Jenna Dewan and Steve Kazee's son was born in March of this year. The meaning behind this little one's name is actually so precious. They chose Callum—which means "dove" in Gaelic—"because he has been so sweet and peaceful since landing in our arms," Steve shared in via Instagram Stories. Michael is Steve's middle name and Rebel was to honor Steve's mother Reba.

Blaze Tucker

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Buruss and her husband Todd Tucker's daughter came into the world via surrogate in November of 2019. In the season 12 premiere of RHOA, Kandi revealed that she and Tom were originally having twins, but one of the embryos was lost. "We actually were supposed to be having twins, and then one of them didn’t continue," she added, "I was sad at first, but then I just had to be grateful that the one made it.”

Zuma Nesta Rock Rosdale

Zuma is Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale's second child. People are still wondering where these rockers came up with such a unique name, but so far the former couple has stayed mum about their inspo.

Ocean King PenaVega

Carlos and Alexa PenaVega put a lot of thought into the process of picking a name for their first-born, Ocean King. Alexa captioned an ultrasound picture on Instagram in 2016, writing, "God called the dry ground 'land' and the water the 'seas.' And God saw that it was good.- That is why we went with Ocean." "King" represents that he is the son of the "one true King," she also added. Ugh, pretty darn sweet!!

Navy Rome Aldean

Country star Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany had always wanted their kids to stand with authentic names. "I wanted them to have unique names—not weird, but unique," he told Taste of Country. Navy Rome came from a list of names they put together, as did Memphis, which is the name of their eldest child.

Bodhi Soleil Reed Somerhalder

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder had Bodi a few years back in 2017. The couple has remained pretty quiet about their baby girl, only sharing photos of her on social media where you can't see her face. They were even able to keep their pregnancy under wraps for a pretty long time, until they announced on Instagram that they were expecting—only two months before Nikki was due to give birth!

Leaving the planet a better place for our children, the little choices we can make, and holding ourselves accountable: The other day I had the good fortune of listening to the brilliant Jonathan Safran Foer speak, and he introduced an idea, a plan, a sort of way of living, that really resonated with me. If you don’t know Jonathan, he is the brilliant author of books like “Everything Is Illuminated” and “Extremely loud and Incredibly Close”. He got on stage and shared a story about a couple that came to his book signing last year. Instead of the usual “please sign my book”, he noticed as he opened to page one, a list of promises the couple vowed to make, accompanied by a line that said “witness”, where he was to sign. That list of promises was their tangible form of accountability for how they wished to conduct their lives as tenants of the Earth. Now here comes the next bit- here is what he said that really got me. So many of us say we are going to do things, we make promises, we set an intention. Those intentions are good, they come from an honest place, and we try our best to implement. But, heres the tricky part, they’re so easy to break. Why? Because we have never had to truly hold ourselves accountable. Who is the witness signing on the dotted line? We say we want to recycle, or drive a better car, or fly less, or eat less meat, but life has a way of helping you break those promises when its inconvenient to stick with them. So he made a suggestion that I took in the most literal way, so literal that I came home and had our whole family agree to jump on board with Jonathan’s plan. What if we all made a list. Not one that lives in our heads, but one we write down. And look at. Daily. Now of course everyone’s list will look different, because we all have different lives, but in theory if there are even a few overlapping themes, we will see a whole lot of change.
