The kind of party that attracted celebrities in the '90s barely exists today, if it exists at all. With the absence of smartphones (and influencers wielding those smartphones), famous people turned up to galas, dinners, birthdays, premieres, and after parties, smiled for the press waiting outside, then went through a door where the the odds of someone capturing a photo were rare.
