Celebrities brought it with their Halloween costumes this year, and we're inspired

Whew, what a wild (and long) Halloween ride. Celebrities have been giving us costume inspo in spades for more than a week now, and now that it’s November, we have to look back on all the best transformations. And look: Yes, Heidi Klum may be the unofficial queen of costumes every year, but we’d say she got some serious competition this time around. (We’re looking at you, Halsey and Demi Lovato. You too, Nina Dobrev. We see your effort.)

The best celebrity Halloween costumes this year included stars dressing up as other stars they love, mother-daughter twinning costumes that are, frankly, too cute for words, and couples’ costumes that aren’t too sappy to wear to your friend’s party. (Please, immediately scroll down to Ciara and Russell Wilson.)

Scroll through to see our favorite celebrity Halloween costumes that we might just steal for our looks next year.

Ashley Graham as Jessica Rabbit

She’s not bad; she’s just drawn that way. Ashley Graham absolutely slayed as Jessica Rabbit. The makeup? The gloves? It was all perfect.

Stormi Webster as Kylie Jenner

Um, we can’t handle how cute this is. Stormi dressed up as her mom, Kylie Jenner, in monochrome lavender at the Met Gala. These two love to twin, and we love it every time.

Kylie Jenner and Stassie Karanikolaou as Madonna and Britney Spears

Of course, no Kardashian or Jenner is done after just one Halloween costume. Kylie paid homage to her Playboy shoot in her second costume of the week.

For Kylie, there was never going to be just one or two (or three…?) Halloween costumes. One question: Where do we get that Flounder purse?

Kylie Jenner as Marilyn Monroe

Jenner’s *fourth* Halloween costume paid homage to an icon for V Magazine.

Halsey as Marilyn Manson

Okay, there was a legit double-take at Halsey’s transformation into Marilyn Manson. And it’s not the singer’s only Halloween costume so far this year…

Brr, it’s cold in here! Gabrielle Union and Kaavia Wade threw back to Union’s time in Bring It On in matching cheerleading costumes.

Demi Lovato as Marie Antoinette

Let them eat cake! (And let Lovato come to our Halloween costume party, please, because she’s really killing it this year.)

Demi Lovato as Pennywise

Nevermind, maybe we aren’t inviting Lovato to our party because this It costume is legit scary.

Nina Dobrev as the Chanel runway-crasher

“They said I couldn’t pull off the impossible, but look at me now! The most prestigious catwalk in the world,” Dobrev captioned her post. She even tagged Gigi Hadid, who famously escorted the crasher off the runway. Iconic.

Dobrev is yet again on point, down to the slime green roots, as Eilish.

Jameela Jamil as Billie Eilish

It seems the “Bad Guy” singer is a trendy Halloween costume for 2019. Jameela Jamil rocked what she calls a “Silly Eilish” costume.

Jessica Biel as Justin Timberlake

Excuse us, but suddenly we’re transported back to taping posters of this exact Justin Timberlake-in-bleached-curls look on all over our middle school bedroom. After Biel said she didn’t know any NSYNC songs, she made it up to her husband by throwing back to his boy band days.

Paris Hilton as She-Ra

How do we get an invite for Hilton’s star-studded Halloween bash? Next year?

Cardi B as a nurse

Cardi went classic as a nurse for Halloween this year…

Nicki Minaj as Harley Quinn

Nicki Minaj is right on theme for the upcoming movie Birds of Prey.

Nicki Minaj as the Bride of Chucky

This year, Minaj is all about the devilish duos.

Heidi Klum has had a long reign as Queen of Halloween with her epic costumes, and her first one of 2019 looks like an excuse to douse yourself in glitter.

Heidi Klum as…umm…?

Well, whatever she is, she’s horrifying. We’d expect nothing less.

Camila Mendes as Rick Sanchez

Important announcement: Camila Mendes is a Rick and Morty fan, too.

Lauren Conrad as a ghost

L.C. is making all of our ghost costumes unworthy with this spooky look.

Jordyn Woods as Cleopatra

The only appropriate response to this is the flames emoji.

Normani as Naomi Campbell

Normani is giving us some (ahem) motivation to really up our costume game this year. Just look at that side-by-side!

Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler as Sally and Jack Skellington

It’s no surprise that our holiday movie queen, Vanessa Hudgens, is channeling one of our favorite holiday movies, The Nightmare Before Christmas, for her couples costume.

Ariana Grande as Janet from The Twilight Zone‘s “Eye of the Beholder”

Sofia Richie as Aurora from Sleeping Beauty

Richie joined Kylie Jenner as a Disney princess this year.

Missy Elliott as herself

This is iconic. Elliott transformed back into herself 22 years ago for her first album cover, and truly, which is which?

Rose McGowan as Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby

McGowan’s Halloween costume was so great, Farrow herself responded with love.

Kourtney Kardashian as Morticia Addams

Mindy Kaling as Brad Pitt in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

We love everything Mindy Kaling does, but this is on another level.

Now, are we all ready for Halloween 2020?
