Some people celebrate their half birthdays. But have you ever celebrated half Christmas? Well mark your calendars because Christmas is officially six months away! As we traveled the country this month, we noticed a surprising number of sleigh bells ringing for Christmas in July celebrations. And you still have time to roast chestnuts over an open fire.

It’s always festive in North Pole, New York, but they go all out every July. Santa’s Workshop has been hosting events that will get you in the Christmas mood, and you can catch the last one on July 29-30. In addition to exploring Santa’s Workshop, guests will interact with Santa’s toy makers and even get the opportunity to chat with jolly Saint Nick himself.

If you feel like mixing a little naughty with your nice, Live Burlesque in Las Vegas is hosting its 4th Annual “Christmas in July” show on July 26. The audience is encouraged to wear Christmas themed costumes and the flier says there will be “gifts” for all. Something tells us these “gifts” will be unwrapped.

Now might be the time to make reservations if you plan on traveling for Christmas. Several resorts and hotels are getting a jump on holiday travel by offering “Christmas in July” specials. Hawks Cay Resort, in the Florida Keys, just released details for their Christmas package that can be purchased now for use from Nov. 29 to Dec. 18. Sure, you won’t have a white Christmas in Florida, but seeing Santa zoom by on a jet ski might just make it worth it. The Hilton in Chicago and Marriott’s Gaylord Hotels are also offering up some hot winter deals.

Gaylord Opryland Resort isn’t wrapping presents yet, but they are definitely trimming the trees. Christmas is almost six months away, yet horticulturists have started hanging holiday lights for the resort’s annual country Christmas. Before all is said and done, they plan to hang more than two million lights, ensuring that everyone attending will have a bright Christmas.

The Salvation Army bell ringers are a staple of the holiday season, and even they are getting antsy to start jingling for charity. Bell-ringing season starts in November and runs through Christmas Eve, but you can sign up starting in July. With that said, Yahoo Travel spotted some ringers in Ohio last weekend. Guess it’s never too early to give back — or start planning for those silent nights.
