Catt Sadler reveals details behind her E! exit

Catt Sadler left her job at E! after discovering that her male counterpart, Jason Kennedy, was making more than double her salary. The 42-year-old stopped by The View today and revealed how she had learned about the difference in their salaries. “A female executive had said, ‘Just so you know, you are severely underpaid.’” Sadler believed that she could use this information to back her upcoming negotiation; however, she was sadly wrong.

As we all know, the negotiations didn’t redress the pay disparity, and in December 2017 she left the network. Sadler went on to say that “what was happening was an injustice, and that’s why I felt very compelled to fight for what was right.” Since she left E!, she has become a face of a powerful movement.

The mom of two said that if she had stayed and “just accepted what was offered to me, that that would conflict with who I was. … I knew I wouldn’t do the network any good, the fans, the people, the audience any good.”

But this isn’t stopping Sadler — if anything, she’s coming out stronger. She just revealed that she will be returning to the red carpet — but obviously, not with E!. We will be seeing her on the red carpet for the Vanity Fair party at the Oscars.
