The Cast of Netflix's "Cursed" Brings a Brand New Twist to Familiar Characters

Just when you thought you knew everything about Arthurian legends, Netflix's latest series, Cursed, is here to turn it all upside down. The Lady of the Lake gets a chance at a brand new journey when the Sword of Power chooses her to help lead the Fey in their big fight against the Red Paladins. Along the way, she meets some very familiar faces like Arthur, Igraine, Merlin, Gawain and more. The show also introduces some brand new characters along the way. So get ready to re-meet some of your favorite characters, while falling in love with some new ones.

Here are the cast and characters of Netflix's Cursed.

Katherine Langford as Nimue

"Nimue has a really incredible and kind of epic journey. On one hand, she's going through this journey of grief, personal loss, and also personal growth, and then kind of the greater challenge of overcoming adversity," Katherine revealed on the set of Cursed back in August 2019. "In this series and the story, she kind of represents courage. She's a really hopeful beacon and interesting heroine both in this world and in present time. It's quite timely and interesting to see a heroine's journey as opposed to seeing a hero's journey and how that differs and how it's similar."

Katherine is known for her breakout role as Hannah Baker in 13 Reasons Why. She also recently starred in Knives Out and Love, Simon before returning to Netflix in Cursed.

Devon Terrell as Arthur

"It's actually really great because I've created a character where it's not the King Arthur that we know. He starts off as a mercenary with a lot of family issues," Devon told Seventeen. "He's finding his own self as a young man through the whole process. It's not until he meets Nimue that he actually starts going on a real journey of becoming this person."

Devon is known for portraying Barack Obama in the movie Barry and playing Horatio in the 2018 film Ophelia.

Gustaf Skarsgård as Merlin

Merlin is a great sorcerer who has a dark secret that prevents him from wanting to use his magic. He became a drunk due to his past and now tries to survive under King Uther's rule by helping him with whatever he needs.

Gustaf previously starred as Floki in the hit series Vikings. He recently appeared in the second season of Westworld.

Daniel Sharman as Weeping Monk

"He's a deadly assassin. He's one of Father Carden's very sought after, intimidating killers," Daniel told Seventeen. "His unique skills and abilities are incredibly important for Cardin to be able to take down the Fey. He's pretty ruthless."

Daniel played Isaac Lahey on Teen Wolf and Kaleb Westphall/Kol Mikaelson on The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals.

Sebastian Armesto as Uther Pendragon

Uther is the current king of the land that Nimue lives. He will stop at nothing to make sure that he stays in power, however, his reign soon becomes rocky after a secret comes out about him.

Sebastian previously starred in Harlots, Broadchurch, and Poldark.

Lily Newmark as Pym

Pym is Nimue's best friend and loyal confidant. She is willing to do anything it takes to help Nimue on her journey, even if it means putting herself in danger.

Lily recently appeared in Sex Education as Ruthie.

Peter Mullan as Father Carden

Father Carden is the leader of the Red Paladins. He believes that getting rid of the Fey is what God initially intended and has created the ultimate army to take them down. Despite having strong ties to the church, he would do anything to make sure that his goals are accomplished.

Peter previously appeared in War Horse, Westworld, and Ozark.

Shalom Brune-Franklin as Igraine

"She's definitely not Arthur's mom in this one. She is sort of Nimue's right hand girl. We meet her in the convent and under very mysterious circumstances," Shalom revealed. "We don't quite know what's going on at that time when we [first] meet her."

Shalom is mostly known for playing Private Maisie Richards in the British series Our Girl and Bindy in Bad Mothers.

Matt Stokoe as The Green Knight/Gawain

The Green Knight is the great protector of the Fey who helps them in their fight against the Red Paladins. Nimue reunites with him on her journey after not seeing each other for several years.

Matt Stokoe starred as Alex in the final two seasons of Misfits. He has also appeared in Bodyguard, Sense8, and Jamestown.
