The ‘This Is Us’ Cassidy-Kevin Theory Was Finally Proven True (but 3 Cassidy Questions Still Remain)

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

Since Cassidy (Jennifer Morrison) joined the This Is Us fray, fans have speculated about how she might fit into the Pearson family narrative in a long-term sense. They’ve hypothesized about her parentage and her potential romantic prospects and, in last night’s episode of the series, one fan theory actually came true: Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Cassidy got together.

With that theory confirmed, we’re left to question if three other prominent This Is Us Cassidy theories hold up.

Theory One: Is Cassidy Kevin’s Eventual Baby Mama?

Now that Kevin and Cassidy have done the deed, this one is looking a whole lot more probable. But before we jump to conclusions, let’s get a little back story on this. In the season three finale, we learn that Kevin eventually has a son and that his kid looks a bit like his ex-girlfriend Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge). You know who also kind of looks like Sophie? Cassidy. This past episode, Kevin and Cassidy talked so much about his desire to start a family that it’s difficult not to see that as foreshadowing. All we can say is we’re definitely in favor of this theory coming true…as long as they both get their acts together.

Theory Two: Does Uncle Nicky Know Cassidy from the Past?

OK, hear us out. When Nicky throws the chair through the window in the season four premiere, there’s a moment where he and Cassidy lock eyes and he takes a swig of whiskey. Sure, we’d take a long hard look at someone who threw a piece of furniture through our window, but some are speculating that the weighted look between them means he might recognize her. Although Uncle Nicky hasn’t really given us any huge clues to support this theory, he did talk about the love of his life who he lost touch with. Perhaps Cassidy is this woman’s daughter and they look alike. Who knows?

Theory Three: Is Cassidy Jack’s Love Child?

Yeah, this one threw us for a loop, too. There’s some chatter that perhaps Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) fathered a child while in Vietnam or before he got together with Rebecca (Mandy Moore). Some fans are speculating that he could have had a daughter with the woman from the Vietnam episode and that he asked Uncle Nicky to keep it a secret, which is why he’s always stayed away from the family. We’re assuming this one is false—especially since she and Kevin have been intimate now.

Our favorite family drama returns with season four, episode seven next Tuesday, November 5, at 9 p.m. PT/ET. Hopefully, we’ll get more insight into the Cassidy and Kevin situation.
